I had around 700 creds worth of work done ready to upload on my X2 this afternoon and was just waiting on a couple of WUs which were stuck in 'uploading' status, because my net connection had gone down overnight, before hitting the 'update' button. Around an hour ago we had a powercut and when it came back up Boinc reset itself...

I am not amused :|

Sorry to hear it! Rosy can be frustrating at times. Checking a machine and seeing it at 1% and 13 hours, check the graphics and it's frozen..or it's not..and your set for 8 hours max..If it's any consolation I think it's happenned to all of us..

You think that is bad try the service install. I make a list about every two days go down it and restart every machine or get the service running manually. Five machines every few days easily.

Yeah, getting stuck at 1% for up to 24h before I notice it is the worst. Wish it would auto-abort if a WU goes over 2x the preference work time setting.

Another annoyance is having work time preference set at 4 hours but still being given 2, 6, & 8 hour WUs. The smaller ones I don't mind so much, but longer ones open themselves up for like the above lockup or the "exited with zero result, restarting" error.

On the plus side, they are furiously developing a new version of the Rosetta program with new beta versions released every few days. Up to version 4.91 so far.

Anyone else notice the memory usage has gone up?

The only saving grace in all of this is that R@H and BOINC get updated and fixed regularly!

It's frustrating that Rosetta clears everything when any form of corruption occurs - you'd have thought it could at least give you the option of resetting, or even attempt to rebuild the xml files, rather than just going ahead and clearing them automatically.

I'm kicking myself for waiting for those 'uploading' WUs to complete before updating...still, lesson learned - I won't be doing that again lol

I'm having that problem with P4's. The service will mysteriously stop on them every few days. Not having this problem with K7's or K8's, though.

Thought so too, until i saw my FX-53 was off almost a week, and couldn't do anything to rerun it ( was abroad :-) ).
Found unbelievable utility laying around in my pcplus monthly dvd, called awcommander. Basically like vnc and the like, only no need to install anything at the host, just use normal windows login...If i'd seen this a week ago that would have saved me quite a bit of lost cands...
