At least in Fab 30, or so the word goes... No joke AMD's the gaming CPU of choice. :p:
ONE OF THE BIG questions looming over the fab space Advanced Micro Devices has, is what the heck is AMD going to do with Fab 30 when it moves to Fab 36? People are worried about useless capacity, 90nm parts with no buyers, etc etc. Well the answer is quite simple, make Nvidia parts there, we hear talks continue.
The Inquirer: AMD may make Nvidia parts (http://www.theinq.com/?article=29877)

nVidia wants 90nm processing..
AMD is giving up 90nm processing.. makes a perfectly mutually beneficial solution...

why not retro fit them to support new fab process? certainly much cheaper then your standard "Build new 600m + fab"

This is the Inq own brand of rumour mongering (sp?). We know they have a reputation for saying complete junk. Considering how short that article was and how they didn't even give a justification for this, I doubt they have any evidence. If AMD were to start making their own chipsets again I would be impressed but I doubt that is going to happen either.

My guess is that fab 30 will carry on making 90nm value parts for a while untill 65nm has been established at fab 36. AMD certainly need the volume now that their market share is growing rapidly if they want to maintain this rate of growth. Otherwise they won't be able to produce enough chips.

Makes sense. ATI and Intel hooking up vindicates an AMD-Nvidia partnership...though both nvidia and ati are currently exclusively updating their enthusiast chipsets for AMD :shakes: :(

It is called following the Money.. if Intel created specifically an Enthusiast Line and pushed it hard.. they would pay more attention to Intel...

Yeah, the article is completely bogus. Like Cobalt said, AMD can still use the volume.

Id consider this article if it wasnt fron the INQ!

amd can start making their own chipsets again if they wanted :D
