i think they only have 8.

If X1900XL is seriously just a down clocked XT.....that would own.

I won't hesitate one minute to buy this card if it truly is just a downclocked 1900XT :toast: hell it should be cheap enough that I can pick up another card 3 months down the road.

Sry boys, different PCB on that there XL..only 5-phase power, but of course the box and sticker art are photochop's so it proly isn't the actual card.

Need more pics!

no need for it to have have 16 vertex shaders

cadaveca
02-23-2006, 04:32 PM
Nope, no more power requirements because of that at all. :stick:

I was refering to the card being a downclocked XT, not that it was the same gpu only...

And considering the disparity between the XTX and XT in terms of OCing, I wouldn't count on this to clock too well, even with 7-phase.

The X1900XL has 5 phase power....as seen in the X1900 AIW. With the added shaders, it will probably find it hard to run at anywhere near stock XT speeds.

the stock cooler is like the X1800XL/AIW and X1900AIW cooler, so may come at same speeds

well mix luck and enough boards and we might get one that beats even the best X1900XTX..

Doubt it.

Most likely, like was said, a AIWx1900 w/o the AIW.

That would mean 500/960 speeds, or something similar. The clocks achieved on the x1900aiw point to ~600/700 being an ideal overclock, similar to the x1800xl. More voltage could mean better clocks...but with the XT's selling as well as they are (and as cheap), and how XT's have a hard time hitting XTX (before the XTX ceased to exist) it makes me think these are pretty-well binned cores. Could be wrong though.

Well, good luck with that.

Besides, the x1900XL will NOT have 1.1ns and will either have 1.4 or 2.0ns RAM. Doesn't hurt to dream at times though ;)

I think they should have atleast put a differnt cooler on it. any card from x1900 series is probalby going to be hot. I think ATI has an idea that 80c is the ideal GPU temp.

You can get some specs here.

If it can match the 7900GT price at $300, then I'll buy one as a "tide me over" card until the DX10 cards show their faces...

The AIW does quite well OCing.

At stock volts and stock heatsink, core hit over 600mhz (like 620 mhz)?

Any info about a release date out yet?

Thou will be stricken down for reviving a dead thread !!!

Blasphemy !!!

:p:

Release date was set for end of march...but ATI mistook the XL as a FireGL product and now release date could be 2008 :)

So this is a mid range card?

I'm not a follower of Ati one bit... But the pricing:performance seems to be very good... (Atleast here in Canada)

I'm sometimes waking up 2 year old threads cuz some moderators dislike it, if you aren't using the "Seach" function of the forum... ;)
