:woot: Looking forward to some real 3D benches.:DI got a hunch that your 180 will do the same:toast:

Now, @ least I can run cascade without big bug problem...I will hook up single stage to this poor 1900XTX...

Use systool for the temps, it reads correctly on DFI boards

@Dumo,

Have you ever tried running div233 or div255 with that bugged FX-60, e.g. 227x15 div233 (RAM @ 261MHz)? I've not had a FX chip and I'm not sure if those "upclock" ratios are available @ x15. but I was just wondering...

With the ultra-D you have the options with the 704-2BTA bios

It worked for me ;)Whoa! I just went back to your thread and just noticed that - x14 and CPU/13! Awesome! :toast:
Have you tested it to see If it helps fight cold bug?

I've had no problems with cold bug at all keeping my HTT low and using the 233 & 250 dividers, its not related to Memory speed just HTT from what I can tell (limited experience with coldbug) but I'd love to see Dumo confirm ;)

I'll try Major:toast: ....You just found something really important for all bugged FX60s:)

@Dumo,

Can you just for kicks try, e.g 280x12=3360MHz div180 (RAM @ 258). If it cold-bugs at this HTT (perfect for this test :D) then try 240x14=3360MHz div233 (RAM @ 258) ;)

Damn, I just realized it's about 4800+ here :D

Looks like you found one heck of DC chip Dumo especially at -90C. You're going to have some fun. Keep us posted.

Is it a ACBWE or CCBWE?

It came from Mikeguava's treasure box....full of nice cpus. Thanks Mike:toast:

hmmm, which makes me think that it's not the memory controller as we're used to thinking, but instead, this little bit of die right here:

So the clock generator is unable to generate a specified HTT under certain temps (i.e. the colder the lower the HTT, vice versa) on bugged chips??

ozzimark
02-21-2006, 07:24 PM
well, the actual clock generator is on the mobo. that little bit is what multiplies that clock signal to get the cpu clock, and does the math to get the memory controller's cpu:dram ratio... and possibly some other things.
if it's actually causing the problems, who knows, but if it's purely HTT limitation and not ram clock, then it's quite possible.

one thing to think about.. i'm sure some of you have had boards that have a max HTT that changes with different cpu's... like i had a dfi nf3-250gb that did 310mhz with a 3200+ claw and 433mhz with a 3700+ newark... so this little bit definitly effects something.

sorry for kinda going o/t dumo :p:

I can bench @ 250 htt @ 1:1 and 1.6V core...The problem either cascade can't maintain heat load fluctuation enough to finish 3D'06 (I have to add more R502/507 to the first stage compressor)...or bad evap mount....

You're very welcome - now get this CPU's clocks up and running! anything below 3.4GHZ will get a :slapass:
