Hi guys, i have just got myself a DFi Sli-DR and some OCZ Bh5. Now i need a suitable CPU, i have around £150 UK to spend on it, and preferably want it from UK. I have heard the new 3700's are brill, so what are the best steppings and does anyone know where can i get the steppings in uk. Or perhaps some of the new 144 or 146's are good?
Advice please

Cheers, i am probably going performance air, but i have a 120.3 setup that i may bung it under for benches. I will look into those 146's, what sort of clocks could i expect from them?
Also does anyone know what the steppings of optys/ 3700's are at scan, as there is a 146 for £126 there, and 144 for £113.
Thanks :)

I agree on taking the Opty route. They are going to be close in price, but it appears as though the Opty's are ALL going to run 2.7 at a minimum on air, with most hitting 2.9-3ghz. Mine runs 2.9 with 1.45V, but will do 2.8 @ stock volts so thats where I left it. Not bad considering I sold my 3500+ that did 2650 for 160 bucks to a buddy then got an Opty 146 for 156 bucks from Monarch a few months back ;-). Good luck in your decision.

Excellent, i have Thebeast's Opty 148 on the way now, very happy with that purchase.
The IHS has been removed, i have heard some stories about some HSfs not fitting properly when this is taken off, i was planning on using a Arctic cooling 64 pro, but was considering a thermaltake big typhoon because i know that fits, as thebeast is running that. Any idea if the 64 pro fits as i wanted it for the price and silence.
Also i planned benching for a week or so on my storm g4, i presume that should work though i dont know?
