View Full Version : Problem installing windows error message

Alright guys, i need some help here. My friends system will not let me install windows. Specs:
Intel P4 520
Asus P5LD2
1x1024mb Centon PC4200 DDR2
PNY 6800GS
WD 40gb IDE

About 5 minutes in when it is installing setup files, i get a BSOD with the error code: 0x0000007B (0xf7c7a524, 0x0000034, 0x00000000 0x00000000)

we are installing windows xp home

the hard drive is hooked into primary IDE spot

the cdrw drive is hooked into the Primary EIDE spot.

any help would be appreciated

i should also note, there is still drivers and stuff on the drive from the duron rig it was pulled from

right when the setup restarts itself...after it is finished loading the setup files, thats when it gives me a bsod

still same problem after reformatting

is it stable? Try a different install disk.

Your not doing something stupid like trying to install overclocked are you?

With a major hardware change, you MUST do a bare-metal rebuild of your OS partition, or use a new or freshly formatted drive (or drive partition). The number of times I've tried it like you have been and experienced issues has been, well ... lots.

Also move the OS-loading optical drive to Secondary master position.
