those monitors sound nice.
viewsonic is supposed to have 1ms by 2007 or something.

And I thought 17"-19" LCDs aren`t improoved that much. Let`s hope 2ms comes w/o issues on image quality.

thats all nice and dandy but i'd be more intrested in 19" moniters with higher than 1280x1024 resolutions theres not much wrong with my 4ms 19" to be honest.

Actually you as a human can not detect a difference between 1ms, 2ms or 4ms response time...

agreed.
1600x1200 on a 19" TFT would look amazing in games :)

You can get 20" LCD with 16x12

so it shouldnt be hard to make a 19" that can do it then, should it? ;)

I don't think it would be worth the $ im going to guess the 19" model will cost around $600. 2ms vs 8ms must be hard to distinguish even if you had the two side by side showing the same thing. none the less im always for advancements in technology.

Just buy a 1600x1200 20" and tape off the edges :D ;)

contrary to belief. The eye doesn't work at 60fps. The human eye can easily see a frame which appears for 1/200th of a second..i don't know what the limit is, but 1/200th of a second is is 5ms, so i expect, the eye really can't tell the difference between 1 and 2 ms...and, even if the eye CAN technically see it, it won't notice it (if you get what i mean). No practical benefit?
I want an LCD which can't switch between native resolutions :(
or ...next PC build will just have to be leet to run at games higher than 1024 res heh.
Stuck in the stone age yes...

20's cost loads more than 19's.

Isn't it the text on a 1600x1200 19" LCD too small?

it reduces ghosting. I can see slight ghosting on my friend's samsung 19" 4ms LCD. I really mean slight, coz it's nothing to complain compared to my brother's 25ms LCD, damn that sucks for gaming. I like my 19" CRT for that, though their LCD screens have superb quality.
oh, and this article (http://www.100fps.com/how_many_frames_can_humans_see.htm) explains a lot on that topic.

Considering that you have more space on an LCD 19" then on a CRT 19"....the LCD would be more legible.

Exactly. My current laptop LCD resolution is 1920x1200.... on a 15.4" LCD screen!
