The bottom line is that the updated A8R32-MVP is an easy board to love. It will cost more than the A8R-MVP, but it also delivers more. The A8R32-MVP Deluxe provides the best dual x16 video performance that you can currently buy. A pair of X1900XT video cards in Crossfire mode is the current best in video, and the Asus A8R32-MVP drives this video package effortlessly when coupled with an appropriate high wattage power supply. The feature set is competitive with any Socket 939 available and also includes on-board high-definition audio that is not available on current NVIDIA Dual x16 SLI boards. The design is also elegantly simple with an RD580 chipset designed from the ground up for high-speed overclocking and for Dual x16 video.
Cant wait to see what DFI has to offer. Looks like a nice board though.

I was hoping for a little more headroom in the ocing department. I hope the DFI version brings it as my Ultra-D poops out at ~320MHz.

Wow. Awesome I/O performance there. Like Anandtech said, this might be the least to expect from this chipset... very interesting.
But of course, another crappy review from anandpoo. Why the heck did they throw that 7800GTX in there... I want to see how the x1900XT performs on the NF4 vs the Rd580... grrr.

Yeah, seems like Anandtech have done this quite a few times lately. There's always posts in the comments about "article pulled" or whatever. The boards look like they will be in stock here in Norway in about a week.

Seems like a pretty nice board from what I read. I was a little disappointed as I was hoping for a leaps-and-bounds gain over the NF4 chipset in overclocking headroom. Anandtech tested the Asus board up to 322MHz before it pooped out.
Looks like the max vcore is dependant upon whatever your chip comes with at default. Vcore maxed out at 1.65V for processors that came stock at 1.35V.

I read it before it went down. Seems like my dream mobo. I don't like DFI boards due to thier complexity, price and uglyness. I might wait for r600 although I doubt we'll be seeing any of those in 939 flavour. As I'm no an extreme OCer so not going beyond 322 isn't going to present any problems for me.

looking very good. Never liked the bios layout though, but thats just preference. The max HTT at anandtech was 322 x 4 LDT. They did that with a 9x multiplier so they didnt even got fully rid of the cpu freq wall.
Any chance RD580 boards will come in single pci-e 16x slot flavor too? (like the sapphire pure innovation)

Man Nvidia is taking a :banana::banana::banana: kicking these days. 7800 512 is no where to be found and it can't compete with the x1900 anyways. And now the Nforce4 dual x16 takes a :banana::banana::banana: kicking from rd580. The new ASUS board looks like a clear winner to me. Best overclocking, best IO performance, and matched with the X1900 obviously the best in graphics performance hands down. Time for the green team to go back to the drawing board. :p:

dont celebrate yet, all nvidia has to do is to have a SB supply problem and production of these boards come to a halt.

You are dreaming. Contracts are already in place and nvidia hasn't even completely taken over ULi yet (even though they own it, they still get very little say in a lot of things).

He has a point in which Nvidia does have all the cards in its hands with respect the SB...though they'll treat this as any previous contract and supply the NB's as requested. Perhaps this could even be a point of friendship between the two rivals, that is, until Nvidia releases slides saying ATI is using their chipset on their motherboards :p:
On the intel front, ATI has Intel advertising crossfire support on non-ati chipset motherboards which is bittersweet but at the very least Intel users will not feel left out. ATI's next big Intel chipset should be what they should be working on next once the rd580 is released...so perhaps something this summer would be a good date for its release...
It all depends if the chipset division has time to give to intel chipsets while at the same time working on AM2 chipsets without problems.

This is going to be my next board!!! I was also reading the anandtech review... went to change to the last page and it was blank!
I then went to Asus.com to see if it was in there product lineup... and it was! I then checked back later that day and they had pulled it off of asus.com also! Funny thing is I was trying to show a friend the board and all the ligature had disappeared.... He thought I was crazy!

But I did find that anandtech review! ;) It's in a zip format that someone pulled off the servers or leaked.
:EDIT: Link to zip file of the review... http://rapidshare.de/files/13621965/a8r32-mvp.zip.html
And also want to add that I JUST sent the money for a new FX-60 chip to put in this board (Once it hits the shelves) :D ;)

On page 2 its got a picture and it says it doesnt need the suplementary molex. But the points are still there. Anyone think you can get greater stability by soldering on a molex?

It never tanked...it was a budget radeon xpress board from the beginning and never meant as a be-all and end-all cf solution...

then they shouldnt have advertised it that way. anyways that's not important as long as the new board works it is good.

Possibly but even Nvidia isn't stupid enough to piss off ASUS. Also word on the street is the red boys have a plan for that anyways ;) No supply issues guaranteed.
But in a way you're right, if you can't beat em mano a mano just buy em. :p:

I certainly hope they won't be charging 200 dollars for a 3phase board. THe 8 phase A8N32 is only $200 or so.

I've seen $124.00 floating around on a couple sites... I've been following this board like a hawk! ...But who really knows
