Im trying to find ram 2x1gb of it, with good timmings that will overclock good. I dont care if it does ddr600 or something. Drr500 would be nice with good timmings.

I tried the G.skill ZX pc3200 ram for awhile froma friend there the older batch models that overclocked on my pc to 260 1:1 with 2.5-3-2-6-1t timmings.

I just got done reading the whole ZX thread in the g.skill section and it seems the newer batchs are really crappy so im afraid to buy this ram now. Right now my pc is mixed with 3 sticks of ram. A 512mb ADATA Vitesta stick (theo ther one died) a TCCC Pc3200 samsung stick, and some value PNY crap.

I only use the PNY one to get over 1gb of ram as my TCCC stick oced to 250 1:1 but ill sacrifice the fps for performance. Anyway what ram should i get?

I dont wanna spend over $250 i prefer to stay @ $200 but for what im looking for it seems the ZX or HX G.skill is the only thing there is.

Please help

Anything UCCC based will be fine. Timings are not important for anything other than pi and 3d01/03 benching.

I got almost 10-15fps more in BF2 using the 2.5-3-2-6-1t timming over my 3-4-4-8-2t timmings with the ram i have now..

My wierd mix of 3 pairs of ram can run @ 208mhz (the pny stick sux) @ 2.5-3-3-8-2t and i notice a differnce in BF2 over 3-4-4-8-2t.

Not just me but there are a few reiviews of timmings in this game and few others with tight and lose timmings showing a definate fps change.

I know the 2t vs 1t is what did alot of it, but the 3-4-4 timmings over 2.5-3-2 and 2-3-2 helps also.

2-3-2 is better than 3-4-4. The lower the numbers, the better. Always go for 1T unless you can get SIGNIFICANT improvements with 2T, and to answer your question, UCCC is good, also Micron -5B is good, revision D (crucial ballistix mostly) seem to deteriorate though, but I've heard nothing but good things about revision F. As for a garunteed overclock (such as RAM rated at PC4000 or something) the best I could find was Mushkin Redline XP4000 2x1GB. Not to be confused with the Mushkin Redline XP4000 512MB BH-5-based sticks. These guys: http://www.mushkin.com/doc/products/memory_detail.asp?ID=273
DDR 500 3-3-2-8 timings.

That ram is way outa my price range, thanks tho

Also good option from G.Skill for significantly less cash ;)

Yea they are good 2 and cheap but the timmings are not what im looking for. Its hard to chose the right memory. Shall i get those that will lets say do 270-280mhz 1:1 like the reviewers got with 3-4-4-8-1t timmings. Or get the HX G.skill that will do lets say 250mhz with 2.5-3-2-6-1t or 3-3-2-6-1t

I was wondering do you guys know any websites that have a review of memory timmings in current games.

Im bout to buy my memory and im still stuck trying to decide if i should get the. I want the best performance i can get in games. Running @ say 280mhz with 3-4-4-8-1t timmings, or running @ 250mhz with 3-3-2-6-1t timmings. Which will perform better

well i would actually sell everything you have and build another rig around a faster gpu and dual channel memery setup
3448 wont seem so bad with a 7800gt or something

I dont have the money.

Selling my Video card, cpu, motherboard. Would only give me about $400 I can only a X2 3800, or a 165 Opty with that and a motherboard. Then i would have to spend $500 ona video card and $200 or more on memory.

S939 isnt much better then what i have thats why im sticking with it. Im using 3 diff sticks of ram in my pc with the worst timmings possible and they dont overclock either and im stuck @ 1.5gb. I need memory. My good ram died

Also the X2 3800 is the same performance clock for clock as a newcastle, Its other corej ust makes it better for multitasking. Duel channle also IS gimmick really 5% performance improvement which what amd says? Thats like 5fps. Na i want to get new ram and hold out for another 6 months or so and see how the AM2 socket does. Then ill probly move.

My 6800GT plays BF2 @ 1280x960 with 4xAA 8xAF @ the max details.

It hard to chose what memory i want, cuss G.skil tech on the forums is saying the new ZX and the HX ram are bad and dont oc like they used to. This leaves me with a choice to take my chances and get the lower clocking better timming HX CE-6 Infineon ram, or the higher clocking looser timming UCCC samsung ram
