have you tried the beta 1007?
but I think 1005 should be fine, just use afudos ;)

does the 1007 bios work with the CT-479? I thought that it was no longer supported (for some strange reason)

1007 won't work with the ct479. i only have one bios chip here, so i can't mess it up.
any way to flash 1005 in xp? i don't feel like making a dos boot disk and actually plugging in a floppy drive.

there's an option in asus update to flash older bioses, look around in there, can't remember what it's called and don't want to have to screw around with my creative drivers again to run the program..
It won't help you. I have tried all bioses and almost no difference. Only 228? What is your PCI-E frequency? Are you booting at 167-199? Jumpers at 400? Chipset volts?

I'd fully recommend the vchip mode to vastly improve FSB speeds too

pcie at 120, boot fsb at 217 (i can boot up to 225, but it's not completely stable). 1.6v chipset, modded adapter at 533fsb jumpers.
c0 core 730
you sure bios 1005 won't help?

i've tried two mobos

It tells me to use afudos. but if it makes no difference, i won't bother.

well I said you have to set a setting to make it flash backwards

he was saying that if you want to flash 1007 and it doesn't work, he can supply you with a backup bios

Do you mean that u've already tried the vchip mod on two motherboards and gained nothing ? Have you adjusted the VCCA voltage by much?

do you remember where this setting was?
no, that's why I said you have to look around and I can't look because creative drivers screw up this program

Have you got a chipset volt mod? K|ngping said he didn't get very far without one. and neither did I.

I don't have chipset mod, and I can get > 250 fsb. Try booting at 167 fsb, PCI-e @ 120, Performance Mode = Auto, chipset voltage @ 1.6v. Then lower multi in windows with EIST, and raise fsb with clockgen.

i'm thinking that a different bios might help me hit a higher fsb than the stupid 228 or so that i'm stuck at.
any major changes or anything else i should know about?
Ohh cirthix. Din't even bother to read your name. Soz Mate. Yeh, what the guy said before is pretty accurate. All that you need to know is in the torture chamber thread. I did a pretty lengthy post on higher bandwidths in the last couple of pages. And the first few pages with K|ngP|ns insights are absolute gold 2. I thought you'd know all that stuff though.
Along with saaya I would have thought you'd've handled these boards more than anyone.
