hi im new to XS and this is me first post..ive been messing with computers for years and thought i would try abit of overclocking with some of me old bits and bobs before i have an attempt with some good hardware...strange thing is i ran sandra on a pentium 4 just as a monitor
sandra picked up the cpu as a 90nm prescott which is fine..but it also rekons the p4 has emt64 extension too?..is this right?..the chip is a socket 478 chip i didnt think emt64 was on any of the 478 cpu's..any replies to enlighten me would be great..thanks :0)

sisoft sandra is, imo, a really crappy piece of software(often wrong and fairly buggy).
get the latest version of cpuz and let us know.

looks like your right mate..i tried cpu-z and also everest..neither stipulates that it has emt64..thought it was strange
by the way this chip is of the f family e stepping how high could it clock on air with decent ram?

use dividers and push it some more. 1.45v on air should be safe as long as your temps dont get out of control.
you might be able to hit 4.2 :)
very good results for s478 though.:toast:
