small cascade

whats the smallest size compressors you can use to make a cascade? any info much appriciated will prob use co2 and propane 2 stage

its hard to say with co2 as ya need alot of suction to get past the subliming issues after -55c.
In saying that iv done a few 2x 1/4hp systems with other gases.
I know chilly has done some cascades with tinny compressors (smaller than 1/4) but that was for gpu.

if its you first cascade i would start with the largest compressors ya can and then try smaller compressors later.
really electricty shouldnt be an issue with a cascade as ya would normally only use it for a benching rig.

cool so you used co2 what other gases could i use instead that are readilly availible to anyone in the uk. im hoping to get some r410 soon so could use that and co2

Im in the UK and 507 is very available oh and my cascade would not hold a load at all the compressors where tooo small later I may fire up my big cascade I was hoping to use r23 but the supplier gave me the wrong gas grrrrr so it will be r507 first and r507/co2 second

cool but i have no licence 507 inst availible to me all tho i just bought 10kgs of 404 on ebay for £55

Nice £55 is cheap i just paid aboot £120 for 11kg's of 507 I also paid for some r23 but it turned out to be someat else nooooooooo
