View Full Version : X1800 Crossfire Edition -> XT PE? Dangerous?!

I got a Crossfire Edition with a friend of mine... its oem so comes with NO cables... its a Sample that ATi send to reviewers etc etc...

I wanted to flash XT PE bios on it but i want to make sure it will not brick my card... anyone ever tried that?

Oh... im a new member but since i closed the deal with my friend i started reading here and you can see below what this board made me do in only 1 DAY!!!

I dont know what stuff to turn off so i can make more points like people do with nvidia (perforamnce stuff etc in control panel) so its all default

You cannot flash that BIOS if you ever want to run it as a Master card in CF, besides overclocking will achieve the same results as the BIOS flash.

I didnt buy the card for CF use... i bought because my friend made a good price and he only had this cf edition...

So is better to not flash?

If your not gonna run CF it doesn't matter, I'd just overclock it.

Dont flash it!, i have 3 friends with dead X1800XT after flashing...

Keep the card with the stock bios.. i use the PE bios only cause like this i have more speed at stock.. but really it's change nothing.. you will use always ati Tool or the Overclocker tool for OC your card.. it s enough.

More i have some doubt the card really work like a normal XT1800XT... don' t take the risk have problem then..

I know very little about X1800XT's, but that one has a really sweet cooling setup :D
