Hey guys im about to invest in a good digital thermometer. Whats the best for the price? I hear of people having issues with the UEI's lately and they are quite expensive. I have also heard of guys here using fluke.
I found this one on ebay, along with ALOT of omega thermometer and was wondering if anyone has used these. Here is the linky. (http://cgi.ebay.com/Omega-Engineering-Digital-Thermometer-869C-220-630c_W0QQitemZ5666816269QQcategoryZ26261QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem)
or similar ones from omega. It has a good range but I am unsure of the accuracy and figured you guys where the people to ask.
thanks!

yeah I got a Fluke 51 and it's really nice to work with.
I think Jan uses a Voltcraft K102 or something like that, and Piotres is getting one as well and they're VERY cheap. They seem to work well and be accurate, so it's the next one I'm thinking about buying :)

Just buy a dt200. That problem you mentoined was about wrong messurements about calibrating. Dt200 works awesome and also bought me one a couple of days ago!

the fluke digital multimeters are nice, friend has a 52 II and really likes it, I just purchased a DT200, havent got it yet (in the mail) but I'll see if I experience any problems with calibration.

Ok cool, so UEI and Fluke are good. But no one has heard of Omega? they seem to be a big company, but then again buy it now for 20 bucks on the auction just seems to good to be true I guess I'll probably just save and get a UEI or fluke off of ebay then. Thanks guys!

Well there arent any calibration problems... people who want to test if its accurate makes the problem ;) just put the probe in ln2. if it doesnt hit -196 you know it isnt good!

omega is a good product but the one linked does not look the the standard type k coupling. recalibration from that company is expensive.
