I just picked this unit up tonight from Sierra Bound :toast: Baker hasn't made any units in quite awhile, but the ones which I've seen in the past perform great. This one's no exception. It's a rotary single stage (I don't know what the compressor is rated @), kinda noisey but I can't hear it over my autocascade anyway :p: Here's a few pics:

It came with a temperature monitoring module that would display -56C as the lowest temp on the evap. When I got home, I booted the unit up and attached a thermocouple from a digitherm. Needless to say, the reading from the probe on the unit was just a tiny bit inaccurate :p: :

Wow thats a pretty nice unit, Looks alot like the rotary in my single stage, but I think that one is a little bigger. Really nice temps for a ss! what gas are ya running and at how much vacuum?

I'm not sure what Baker used for gas, but I've heard of his units running r22 and this IS an r22 compressor. Haven't stuck my gauges on the unit so I have no idea what kinda vacuum it's running ATM. We'll see if this thing has any kind of capacity later. It's suction line, however, after leaving it running for ~30 minutes will freeze in place just like my auto's suction line which may/may not mean anything :p:

-70 with R22 is quite impossible

-60 is -0.6 bar vacuum

and -70 0.2bar absolute so -0.8 bar vacuum:D

it might be but its damn low for sure!!!

It could be that low if it has sprung a leak:( .

hehehe...I'm not sure about the gas. It was just a guess. Any there's probably no way in hell that this unit could hold my opty down :p: That's why it's a GPU cooler :D

Nice unit steven.

Is is going to be hooked onto a X1900 XTX by any chance?

Are we going to trying out some 3D mark 01 action ?

OMG....look who's come back to visit :p: Long time no see my friend - I only wish I had an x1900xtx...I'm stuck with a "lowly" x850xtpe at this time - this is on a 226w pelt and the score should have been 1000 points higher if I had used the CCC AI I've been told:

For what I see every time people they are cheering up to make but systemas with revolving compressors, will have to cheer up.
Happiness for the team s7e9h3n.

Very strong unit you have got there s7e9h3n. Hope to see her clock your card far and as far as not thinking it can hold your opty down I am gonna argue. It may ba a gpu unit but it prolly has 3/4 or 1hp comp on it and taht is massive. I also say taht by looking at G H Z running a FX57 0516 @ 3740mhz. Just a guess and have fun.

Errr when did you get it? I only saw it in person about a week ago... (or identical baker unit). Pretty cool stuff if you asked me.

Ummm...yesterday...it was Sierra Bound's. You know him Jin :p: He said he's had it for over a year

I think Baker made several GPU coolers. I know oc-rookie used to have one, along with a matching CPU unit.

Good luck with your 3D benching, Stephen.

Yup it's oc-rookie's old unit I had in hand. how have you been Sierra_bound? Haven't seen you in forum for a while... still got rookie's phone #?

Oh and that unit was on sale by someone I know :)

I'm doing alright. I might still have oc-rookie's number. I'll check when I get home from work. I'll PM you if I have it. Stephen is a nice guy. Met him and his dog yesterday. My cat wasn't so pleased to meet his dog. lol.

Thanks, and the same compliment can be said about you :toast: BTW, your cat wasn't scared, he was just curious :p: I'll get in touch with you as soon as I see a "certain package" delivered to my door ;) I'm off to mount up the cooler! :woot:

At the end of the 3d01 bench (I ran it straight through with no stops), I'd estimate the GPU was @ ~-48C w/1.72Vgpu....BTW, I've seen temps as low as -60 in windows on the GPU

wow thats really really nice... Nearly 800mhz on an x850!! I need to build gpu cooler now...lol Would love to see what an x1900 would do on that baby. Sorry don't have one to send ya for testing... :(
