Was playing around and realized I dont have lock free. Its getting a tad annoying, cpu is a 550j and bios is 0606. I think its the 0606 and asus flash wont let me flash to a few older bios's I have. Which bios supports lock free?

Cpu lock free feature only works on 3.6ghz and higher cpu's with 5xx & 6xx series on Asus and Gigabyte boards that support this. Not sure about Abit or others

either your cpu doesn't have it or you don't know how to use it

intel 550 & BIOS 0408 = works

P.S.
You can also set in BIOS "Enhanced Speedstep" to "Minimum speed" (p5wd2 premium 0519 and newer)
Or try this trick by software - http://cpu.rightmark.org/products/rmclock.shtml

Well now I cant use this info. I went to test 0304 after 0519, used a floppy and alt f2 the normal stuff. Now p5wd2 clearly has a bad bios. No visual or keyboard, wont take alt f2 on a differnet floppy with 0606 on it. Everything starts up, anyone know where to buy one of little bios chips?

EDIT: Sending the mobo and my x850xt to someone for vmodding and hot flashing.

You can't get 0408 bios from Asus website for P5WD2 anymore and have'nt been able to for some months.

Its known before on this Intel forum website about EIST trick, but not as stable as "official" Cpu lock free feature on respective mobos. A lot of users reported mixed results several months ago on this forum with EIST trick. I've tried it with my 630 but can only boot at 1-1. Again, not as stable compared to default multiplyer.

But nice link you provided from rightmark, will have to try that one out ! ;)
