I can live with the price when it does what it's expected to do ... be overclockers' friend ;)
Yonah is the reason I didn't buy something with Toledo recently. Hope that was no mistake.

Some first hand impresions of the o/c capabilities in this Aopen board is highly welcomed .. only if Asus would wake up and mass produce a Yonah/975x board .. that would be the new standard of the SLI benching rigs.

Didnt Fugger talk about a Asus 975x highend board at one point? But i dont think we got any more details after that :(

I'd certainly pay 315 for that board... the CPU's are pretty cheap!

Let me tell you all why it's worth it...

An FX60 is 1000, DFI939 is $150...tha's $1150.

A T2600 is $450 and the board is $320...

On air FX60 will probably go 2950ish, Yonah wil go 2850ish...

Yonah pwnz FX60.

And start to freeze them, lol... Yonah "probably" has no COLD BUG!

why compare with an fx60, take an opty :D

Most opties won't be stable @ >2.8Ghz except some good steppings like 0550upmw

Well, I am really not familiar that much with Aopen line of products but for such price I would expect the absolutely highest quality components, features and other stuff from a desktop board.

Unfortunatley thats not the case with Aopen, atleast not in my case.

Aopen uses some really cheap caps that die quickly. EVERY SINGLE aopen product (not limited to mobos) i own had faulty caps. After soldering new, working ones on, they work great. My current list includes:

1x350w power supply, at least 3 motherboards off the top of my head, and a couple others i've worked on since. it always seems to be either the completely green caps or the ones with gold colored text on them.

the first canterwood board available was aopen one and i had to get it. even if it went ~$330 with shipping.
it was first but comparing to even abit i865 boards it was poor overclocker, considerably slower and somehow buggy hardware.. also it had problems with various ddr sticks..
so, we could expect from this board - problems with ram, buggy hw, poor support (close to none bios updates etc), etc, etc.
this is, after all, a first 975x (aopen afaik never did have even 925 or 955 board)
Also, ask Sampsa how did he like those Aopen made dothan boards :)
but i never say never.. i will never buy an Aopen board for over $200. unless it's a gem :D

300 EUR for Aopen ? The price is like for servers mobo.
Must hope, no low quality like older mobos with lower cost capacitors.
