Definitely 3.4e @ 4ghz. Especially for what you intend to use it for.

I would expect a 750 to clock higher than 2.6GHz. Right?

I've only tried one 750, but it could do 2.8Ghz on the stock ct-479 heatsink so I woulda thought so yeah.

most hit 2.7 prett easy for sure, i was being in favor of the 3.4 prescott.
most 3.4e's have trouble hitting 4.0 without burning down a house.

i would still prefer the dothan but i was mainly asking for another person who is deciding right now.

i think he made the right choice for overall as he chose the dothan.
he has a p4c800e and it seems like the 3.4e's tend to burn them boards out.

I need 3.2GHz on my 146 to beat my former 730 @ 2.73GHz in 3D01 and 1M.

Youre gonna need more than 4GHz on the P4 to beat the P-M i games and benches, but as far as encoding and such, the P-M IS and FEELS SLOW.

Tell me about it. I just moved from a Dothan @ 2.8GHz to a P4 630, and even @ 4GHz, i am scoring about 20K lower in aquamark. The difference is just huge. However encoding is tremendously faster.

lol, my 750 @ 2.8 was well over a second quicker on Pi 1m than I could get with my P4 @ 4.6

P4 is just folding now. Suffice to say I won't be going back to it for general use, but then I don't do any DVD encoding :)
