After a few days of playing around, 16538 is where I'm currently at. Don't really know how good/bad this is, but I do know it's been fun getting here. :D

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5773910

I'm going to play for another week or two without doing any volt mods or super cooling. The only extra cooling I have at this moment is some outside air blowing across the video card.

415/321 makes me . :D

Hey Jeff was your Sapphire a retail?? Nice score BTW making me jealous!

It's an OEM from NewEgg. I pushed the core up to 430 and didn't notice any artifacts but my score didn't increase(actually went down a few points). I'm also up to 328 for the memory... any more and I can see strange pixels in Nature.

Just squeeked out a couple more points to... 16592:

That is really impressive!!:D I dont know how but for some reason we have the same card but you got 3.0ns mem and I got 3.3. Oh well my card is going back to newegg and I'm getting a 9700pro!

EDIT Are you gonna start folding again any time soon we really need you man? No pressure though. hehe

Jeff,

Very nice score!

Time to get Xtreme...vmod that sucker ;)

Nice scores! I noticed that you are running a fsb of 215 vs mine of 192. I wonder how much of score difference it would make on the scores though my cpu is a little slower overall. You also have your card clocked higher. I'm gonna try to volt mod my card and do the vdd mod on my 8RDA. Maybe then i can catch you :)

Thanks. I really don't need to be hooked on anything else computer related but 3DMark is pretty fun. :D Oh God... I hope my wife can handle even more of me being :am:.

Broke 17k right before bed last night...

JEFF GIVE ME ALL YOUR SECRETS! ;) well besides the obvious cpu speed and video card clocks. What are you tweaking ? I want to get 16k at least :)

Oh and nice scores MickeyMouse. Try some with AA and AF on ;)

Yea I haven't actually ran mine with it on. If I can ever get close to you at 17k I would be happy :)

I don't have any secrets. I just started doing 3DMark and basically all I did was install a fresh copy of Win2000-SP2, install the nForce2 drivers, install the video card drivers, install PowerStrip, open my cellar window, and bench. See... nothing magical. :D

I did pick up 4,000 points moving from WinXP Pro to Win2000 SP2. (I think the nForce2 drivers installed wrong under WinXP or something because my performance sucked)

Hmms damn :( Maybe i'll try another freshinstall. I'm running sp3. Any known problems with that?

Very nice Jeff. I have a few questions.

What are the ram chips on your 9500? Mine were the 3.3 infinons and I have problems running any more than 297mhz on the ram. I have tried 3 different overclocking utilities with the same results. My core does 398 on stock cooling, any more and it lowers my score. Our scores are almost the same, but each test varys greatly... I'm glad someone else is playing around with basically the same setup as I.

All I did was flash to warp11's overclocking BIOS.

Pretty neat how our tests all look pretty different but our scores are spot on. ;)

I have the 3.0nS Infineons on my card. I'm flashed to warp11's non-Infineon BIOS hack currently and I think I may just flash to his Infineon BIOS.

I did the Vgpu mod last night and it actually helped me get 20MHz more out of my memory? I don't know how or why but I'm happy. :D

XtremeAMD use 9500 np that modded to 9700, he beats you in test 2 and 4 (vga intensive) while in test 1 and 3 you beat him with your high fsb nforce 2.

Exactly ;)

sold my ti4200 and got a connect 3d 9500 128mb @9700PRO artifact free

feels great to pimp ati for a 9700PRO half the price :D

heres a humble quick score from a ATI n00b (second day with the card)

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5800664 16k :/

I dont understand why but I should be getting around 225fps in chase low

maybe it´s a ati9700 thing ;)

whatever , man im so not in the mood to waste time testing drivers and testing tweaks and stuff :D

when i get a good tbred b or barton ill do a quicky :D

man ut2k3 runs like a dream with this thing , gotta play some moreeee :slobber: ...and kick some serious ass , mohaa too

I wonder if thats my problem. I am not sure wether I used the bios for the infinons or not. I should try flashing a couple of different bioses and pray to god I don't mess it up. ;)

Wish I had the guts to do a vmod, but I haven't even taken the stock HSF off to AS3 it yet. ;)

I just picked up an Abit NF2 on wednesday, and my 1 and 3 test scores went up, but I'm limited to 1.8 volts now (undervolts badly) so I wont get to play along as you climb past me.

I'm gonna pick up an Epox 8RDA+ when they come with a VDDmod. Hoping to get 19k in the end with this setup. :)

Just to let you know ExtremeAMD, I flashed to the Infineon BIOS tonight and so far... without the cold air blowing on my memory this time... I'm up to 360MHz. Looks like that BIOS is worth the flash since I went from 345MHz with Xtreme air-cooling(Tornado in a duct blowing directly on the memory) to 360MHz without any kind of RAM cooling.

Take a looky here... :D

http://tric.topcities.com/ is where I got it. This guy supposedly worked with warp11 so I was a little nervous to try it. As with everything else that gets mentioned on these boards... try at your own risk. ;)

Shame they group the 9700 and 9500 together on futuremark.

Little early morning, cold weather(-8c), overclocking...
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5847569

:D

I had one a little higher, but it wasn't 'publishable'. I still have a few MHz in the FSB and overall speed, so I'm now thinking 19k will be a reasonable goal.

Yep, PowerStrip. I've bumped the GPU up to 1.8v which results in 455-457MHz being stable(457 needs just a bit more cooling to be stable). And all this is with the stock hsf. :D I did take it off and apply some Shin-Etsu to the core. When I bench, I have a Vantec Tornado blasting the heatsink/memory with cold air from outside so this is helping too.

The cooling also allows me to push 3.2v up the memory's arse to get 376-378 stable. :D

I'd love 500/400. :slobber:

Jeff

In my case, I can run a few benchies in the 225 to 230 range but 3DMark will not run reliably over 222 with 1.98v going up the chipsets(Vdd) arse. :D Even though one of my sticks is good to the 235-236MHz range and my other stick is proven to the 230 range(when using a single stick in my 8k9a2+). I'm really not sure what's holding me down to 222.

I really, REALLY wish I didn't epoxy a heatsink onto the NB because I'd like to TEC it and the video card and really see what this combo can do.

how did u get power strip up that high with the rage 3d overclocker or installed powerstrip twice. i cant seem to get over 410 to work properly @1.75 volts

I have to set the memory above 350MHz in order to increase the GPU above 420(?) or around there.

Now before I did the memory mod, I couldn't really run 350 stable but if I set it to 350, then set my GPU to above 420, then set the memory back to 330... I'd be fine.

I also needed to bump the memory above 370 for another step up in GPU settings.

wolfgang

cool how did u do the memory mod if u could show a pic it would rule 405 is about the max on the gpu i can get 313 on the mem

Today I got my new 9500 Pro in. This one has the Infineon 3.3ns instead of the 3.6ns I had in my last. So far i did the volt mod and have been able to run 3dmark2001 at 391/306. The only problem is I'm getting tons of artifacts if I run the mem over 310. I guess I'll have to do that mod also once i get some more smd grabbers. Just kind of odd that my 3.6 would do 324 just fine yet the 3.3 can barely do 310 or so :(

I got a 4178 with my xp2100@2300mhz and the 9500 doing 425/310. However it told me the submission was failed so I have no link.
