I've been testing my new GSkill 2GBHS modules the past few days with Memtest v1.65 and ran into something I hadn't seen before. When I tested the memory with timings that were too tight, Memtest gave me errors right away in test 1. I then rebooted and went to the Bios to change the timings back to the last values that had worked correctly and then rebooted again to run Memtest, and then got errors again right away in test 1. I thought this was strange since these settings did not give me errors before, so I powered off for a few seconds and tried again and Memtest worked fine with the old settings.

I've tested with Memtest before and don't remember having to do a cold boot after failing one of the tests, but wanted to know if anybody else has seen this before? Is this normal?

I've not seen it before, but perhaps a soft reboot doesn't flush the BIOS registers correctly on the motherboard. It's something interesting to explore, though, huh?

Yeah it does seem that something needs to be reset that only a cold boot can do. I'm running an Epox 9NPA+ Ultra with a 3200 Venice and 2GB of GSkill F1-3200USU2-2GBHS. My last board was an Abit KD7A and I don't remember having this happen with that board.

I've been playing w/ volts before and not been able to boot into Memtest, but then I forgot to go into the bios and it booted again and went right into Memtest.
