anyone tried benching in vista, im sat here with two copy's from microsoft 32 bit and 64 just wondered if its worth trying some bench tests to see the difference between xp and vista. from my experience vista will be a little slower?

seems to support all our hp systems here but not sure how much dfi and other brands will be supported. ms told me on the phone to try the drivers for xp as most should work with this release of vista but whether they would be fully functional i would have to find out

im just about to test it using virtual pc so ned need for me to format it, do you have technet? if so u should use virtual pc u can run loads of operating systems on one machine all from within windows and you dont have to mess ur machine up if it doesnt work. which release of vista do you have?

Dammit, I work in IT and I don't even have a copy of Vista yet :( I'm so sad I could cry but I wont yet.

Anyone wanna send me a copy to play with lol. Otherwise I think the MSDN download is needed :P

Well.... i thought allready about something else... why not a os that runs only dedicated superpi / clockgen / pifast and 3dmark. ;)

Windows XP N-Lite version mate ;)

Rip everything out you dont need for benching, all the services...everything, just install the drivers you NEED and then install the benching apps you need. Create a slipstream CD of it all and your sorted.

Got mine down to 120mb so far lol. Installs in less than 10min on the windows desktop with all drivers and progs installed ;)
