On stock shuttle cooling (air) i managed 2.6g with 1.36vcore dual prime 24h stable :)

It went up to 2.8, but needed 1.55vcore for prime stable.

So it looks like you got a pretty good chip.

with water, 2.8ghz shouldn't be a problem ! :)

YES! Thanks guys, you made my day. This 3700 I have now can boot up into XP at 3GHz, but its missing one pin (whihc has no bearing on stability it seems) and no IHS. I just dont know how to make it stable at that speed. I can run games all day at 2.9 but P95 errors after like 2 hours. Instead I run it at 2.8 which is what I want to get out of this bad boy.

What is the max v for water? Im not sure if Im ripping the IHS off yet.

I wouldn't go over 1.6 personally. How long do you want your chip to last...thats what you need to ask yourself.

Is there a difference on how to OC these? I mean just add volts right? LOL

i'd run 1.6v 24/7 if your temps are under 45c.

Would the 170 clock similar to the 175?

Would the 170 clock similar to the 175?

I have 3800+ sitting here with same codes on it....

I would venture a guess that when the chips get binned at the factory, the 175 passed a higher number of tests than the 170, which passed a higher number of tests that my 3800+ (half the cache must be turned off to get it to pass the tests).

I ran 2 instances of SP2004 last night, and when I woke up (testing RAM at 270) both were at idle at 6 hours and 35 min with 0 errors, for some reason they just stopped LOL

Oh well I have P95 running on it now.

So what Cpu Mhz and volts were you at? :)

Im at under stock right now with I think 1.5v on it. Someone said to find the max RAM first, then try to put the CPU at 2.7.

2.7 at 1.5v so far. Not too bad I guess. :)

2.8 on 1.6v, so far priming nicely.
