Does anyone know how to fix the problem that when you try and update the server list or refresh it comes back nothing. I have the right filters on; where are the servers? Or, when i start BF2 Multiplayer, it automatically starts me on a server..aannoyying

That bothers me too, delete that shortcut (icon) that says play BF2 online now, its full of problems, and just open BF2 normally and choose multiplayer. also refresh the list don't update.

the server browser is 'pretty buggy' at the moment, but once you know it's quirks you can get it to work great
basically, you can only have a maximum of 5 filters ticked in the filters section. 6 or more will break it.
to get it working, untick all the MAP SIZES (small, medium, big) because they do nothing anyway, and just select 5 or less (ranked, no password, same version, same mod & punkbuster is what K use) and the browser werx perfectly.
you can also put partial server names or partial map names into the browser and it will now work =D

Yeah, now i got a problem that whenever im somewhat in Battlefield either trying to find a server or just starting up the game, sometimes it will just shut off and a blue screen will pop up saying "If this is your first time encountering this problem, restard your computer etc etc.." "If not, reset your BIOS to default settings, diasble any shadowing etc" Whats this mean? Im starting to have it when i Install Half-Life and BF2:Special Forces
dont add more than 5 filters or this happens

ohhhhh, so we can blame you for not catching any of the major bugs that get introduced with each new patch, that normal players notice after just 2mins of play

Too true, but then again DICE never fixes any BF2 game before releasing it.

BF2 always gets me wound up. I've given up trying with it. Not quite the same as BF2, a good alternative is Joint Operations. It feels much more precise, and its dirt cheap & a pretty lightweight game. Runs alright on my friends laptop w/ a 9600mobile GPU.

this happend to me all the time and i found out how to fix it
u know those little boxes that say like "ranked, punkbuster, map size, same mod etc." ? well make sure u only check about 3 or 4 of them and click "up date server list" and u should be fine.

I have a unrelated BF2 question...
Any way to get rid of the intro / logo screens?
I can't stand watching that crap everytime I start it up...even if its only 20 seconds lol

Go to:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies
Delete everything in there aside from the two files entitled "Menu.bik" and "Menu_loggedin.bik".
