This might be my entry level phase system:D User made a interlock to prevent powering on PC unless prommy is running.
Give him $350 so he can buy the OCZ unit and you get the mach1? I don't think I would do it... but what do I know. :\

I'm new to phase... that's why I'm asking.
I had one for a while, it was alright when it worked, but I always had a hard time getting good contact and a proper mount with that head. I dunno if this is typical or me just being retarded. If you want to plunk $300 or so down for phase I would personally wait for the OCZ unit. OCZ will back that product 100% and I believe chip-con/nVentiv went out of business didn't they?

I suppose it really depends, 350+shipping kinda sucks, it you could get it for 350 shipped, it'a not as bad. for it to be really useful, unless you have a socket A rig or something that wont have a high heat load, it should be re-gassed and modded a bit, unless you'd settle for sub-par performance and just want it so that you have phase change cooling. Good entry-level units though.

the mounting on those units are out dated IMO, get a vapo LS, or a OCZ unit... if you really want one im sure someone will build you one...

PITA to insulate with what they give you. I had to customize my mach 1 mounting and still use dielectic grease.......

I don't want to just "settle" for a unit to enter phase. I'd like to buy something that will last me and be versatile cause I swap platforms occasionally.

I suggest you PM chilly1 about the units he builds. there are a few others around here that i"m sure could build you a nice SS but chilly1 is the first that came to mind as he builds ALOT of them.

I've PM'd him about a unit, but he does not always reply very timely (I consider timely to be within a day). I'm sure he does good work, but if his replies are any indication of my wait time for a unit, I'll pass.

yea, chilly1 definatly isn't the fastest method of getting a single stage to your door, however he is one of the best, most people consider it "worth the wait" but it you want something very quickly, then maybe buying that mach1 is the way to go "for now" and you could order one of chilly1's units and wait for it, then just sell off the mach1?

I agree, they were very crude in the insulation department
Best thing I ever did w/ the mach1 was sell it. I had many headaches and long waits for mobo sockets to dry out. :(

You've gotta understand though, if he was to leave his PM inbox, it would be full within a day, easily. I've ordered various parts from him and had nothing but speed when it came to deliveries. And I live in Canada, so that has to say something about his work and speed. He's also just been recovering from pneumonia (I think it was).

Chilly1 always answers his pm's within a day or so. So just hang in there he will get back with you. He is just recovering from being really sick so he is playing catchup right now but will soon be back on track. I was up there helping him for a couple of months and got sick myself:( I should be back there helping him in a month or so.
As for the Mach1 I would say if its $350 shipped then go for it. My first phase unit was a mach1 then I had it modded by chilly1 and it screamed after that. But now I have a nice SS the he helped me build and beleive me when I say its worth it. He is #1 in this biz he revolutionized the evap and much more... So good luck!

Bit on the pricey side, however good if its your first time phase change.

I would buy it, and get it modded with a better evap/mount and better gas later.
The compressor in that is almost 2 times as powerful as the ocz unit. The mach1 modded with 404/507/402 will kick the ugly OCZ units ass by far.
Plus you get a nice case

why not. Modify it for another $300 or so and you have one of the best single stage?

looks like a bargain to me
like johann and jinu said u get a phase system that if ur not happy with temps u can always have it modded and in terms of looks u get a nice case matching the phase unit, what else could u want better???
