hey guys
i just mounted my prometeia mach I and i get positive temps if i pass 1,68 vcore....
this opty gets really hot....10Âșc more than my 3700 on the same air cooler and vcore.....

I dont use the heaters.....however dielectic grease will be needed if you dont use them.

hmm, that doesn't sound very good at all, i"ve never used one of those mach1 units personally, but i"ve got the impression that they don't have a particularily high capacity, my opteron 165 is rated at 110W running @ stock volts and clocks, and I"m kind of doubting it has the capacity to even properly cool that under load. I definatly wouldn't bother usingf the heating pad, jsut some neoporene will do fine on the backplate. you might have to lengthen/shorten the captube and regas in order for it to handle the load o_O
R507 or R404A is all she need;)

have you checked to ensure you had good contact between the evap and cpu?

I would say you have bad contact if the mach was overheating the unit would shut itself down
Where are you reading the temps from??

its the 2nd opty i try under this prommy
everything looked fine when we mounted....
i have like -22Âșc iddle
I have a stock mach II and mine idles around -25 mbm. My load is between -15 and -10 on me 146 cabye, simular vcore you used in the pic. I think its contact. A regassed unit should do better then me stock one.

Ive had some trouble getting a good mount as wel. I followed a topic (link is dead now unfortunately) which improved contact a lot. I placed the plate in the bracket that goes on the front of mainboard (before its attached to board) and put 4 small pieces of an old credit card under the 4 plastic things that hold the plate so it stays in place better and is down (towards cpu) as far as possible. After putting cpu in i put the front bracket on with the plate already in place. It wil be a lot harder to change cpu without taking board out afterwards but contact is way better now.

Idle temp tend not to be as stressing as heatload is minimal. The delta increase when you have more heat on it.
This is one of my unit that is designed with silence in mind using same compressor as mach unit idling with ambient temp around 30c. (yes it is hot... but I don't want to turn on airconditioner at this time of month... my comp room gets full sun pretty much through the day and it could get very warm with single stage comp running even in middle of winter during day time lol)
Underfull load with above voltage it goes about -9c with above mentioned voltage.
It seems to me the unit wasn't quite tuned for X2 to begin with. Some custom units I made would have no problem reaching -35c idle (keep in mind, what I am using is actually worst unit per cooling lol.... I never had time to rework on my own single stage).
Loc.o.... you have single core. They behave diff for voltage and diff for temp reading.

I do not get your point. Steellballzz and me both use same cpu, 146 afaik. Im on stock mach he on regassed. His load temps should be less then mine i think. Whats about the dual core ?
