Hey all. I'm a long time member of EOCF and have had connections with the phase change people there. However it seems that I need to consult the community here for the more advanced topics. I know that a bunch of us EOCF guys work both the EOCF and XS forums.

Here is the situation : I have a custom direct die multiple evap setup. I am using R404A ATM but my compressor can work with R507 and R404A. It is up to preference and I might switch to R507 on the next charge. Anyway right now I am stuck at -30C evap temps because I have an underrated TEV that cannot break that threshold.

What I need is a R404A or R507 TEV that is rated for -50C to -60C, basically the boiling point of the refrigerants. I will probably go with two TEVs for dual evap lines/returns.

That's it. I need a couple of TEVs. Simple right ;) . Anyway thanks all, hope to hear from all ya fellow sub-zero people.

Danfoss TX2 should fit your needs, -25 to -65C operating range, for R404/507, that's what I use on my cascade's forst stage.

The orifice is removable, and you can choose the size according to your system's specifications, a 0X or a 00 IMO

thats a pressure expansion valve, he is talking about using a thermal expansion valve-where the gas is controlled by the superheat. In a Pev, The valve is operated by a user defined pressure.

On this link the TEV is rated for R-22 with the TX2. Now alot of components rated for R-22 range to R404/507, is this the case?

Since it is the model you stated I would think so.

Thanks for your help I will be getting two as soon as you confirm it is the right one ;) .

Also if you have any better links to purchase sites that would be great.

This link shows internal R404A/507 as TS2

My danfoss catalog says that TX2 is only for R22. You should look for a TS2/TES2 with a working range from -25° to -60°.

TX~TEX2....R22
TS~TES2....R404a

Nominal capacity kW
capsules,
0X r22 0.5kw
0X r404a 0.38kw
00 r22 1.0kw
00 r404a 0.7kw

It is highly recommended that the correct valve is used with the correct refrigerant.

TS, internally equalised
TES2, externally equalised, this valve requires and extra 1/4fl port fitted to evap outlet for connection to tev.

Thats my input for the month :D

One more question:

Does anyone have a good URL for the purchasing of the TS2 OR TES2 TXPs?

Just wondering as I am lazy and don't want to go through my normal process.

Thanks.
