Need help w/ this... can't seem to run it properly...
One of my impt questions is drive strength, what do you think my drive strength and data drive strength should be?

Drive strength should be set at around 8 imo. As for data strength, play around with it.

well... at level 2, it blacks out... I can only use level 1 here...
and one more thing, I can't seem to reach DDR500 @ 3.3vdimm :(

Go up to 3.4v

Normally, it is hard to make it work at higher data strengths. I, for one, use Level 1 as higher levels resulted in less stability.

here you got some settings to test:

a swedish m8 got 270mhz 3.5v out of them, and moore to come hopefully :D
he got 255mhz 3.2v out of the box, then he burned them in @ 268mhz 3.4v with only 4 errors in memtest #5 per loop.
he is burning them in as we speak.

did those already...
increased to 3.4, 3.5... still can't reach...
played w/ drive strength, nothing....
Is the low latency diff from the normal xtreem mems?

Did you try going 2-2-2-5 instead of 1.5-2-2-5? That might be your problem. ;)

its already @ 2-2-2-5 :(

Try drive strengths of 7/1 and 5/1...your sticks sound like they act a lot like my old BH5.
Also, mess with preamble and max async latency.

how can I know if it's the old BH5? And how does the old BH5 fare from the new BH5?

The teamgroup is deff new (utt) bh5 (week/year should be on sticks). Mine also act same as me old mushkin's.

DDR400 or DDR500?
Put a screenshot with your a64 tweaker settings... we don't know anything at the moment... we can't tell you anything...

It's a ddr400, the low latency type, 1.5-2-2-5 :( but im running it @ 2-2-2-5 right now...
Im using OPB's recommended settings w/ the Teams BH5:
http://img488.imageshack.us/img488/2729/bh52ei.jpg
My Drive is @ Level 8 and data is @ level 1, using Level 7 or 6 doesn't give me any gain.
Im also using TREF 3120 now.
Is this a dud? I reaaaaaally can't reach 250, heck, 240 only becomes stable @ 3.22vdimm!
I have the same ram myself, can´t even run ddr400 2-2-2-5. Tried on Ultra-D and Expert, can run them 2-3-2-5 and that´s about it.

Mine run fine @ 250 now (3.3v 2-2-2-5-7-0). The timimgs i used (and that are different compared to your A64 screen) are:
Tref: 4196
Mal: 8
RP: 5.0
Idle cycle: 0 (so 16 should do fine as wel)
Drive strength: 3 (got to run HTT 330+ due to 10 multi)
Data drive: 1

well... 240 @ 3.22vdimm is nice.
Put some volts to that memory, about 3.5v and let's see what happen ok? :)
Tell us what frequency you can reach with 3.5v. ;)

jc2mm2 , try lowering the drive strength value to 2 or auto .

 you say it's DDR400 (1.5-2-2-5) which can run at 480MHz..? It's quite amazing though.... why you are so upset? just becasue can't get ddr500? or you shall purchase DDR500 in beginning? :confused

DON'T run a drive strength of 2....I think he means data strength ;)
EDIT: And yeah, 240 @ 3.22 is definately considered stellar results. I'll be reviewing a set of TEAM PC4000 Bh5's pretty soon and IIRC, they're rated @ 250 @ 3.2V

I don't understand what you are so disappointed... 240 @ 3.2v is amazing... what did you expect? 285 @ 3.4v? :D

One of my impt questions is drive strength, what do you think my drive strength and data drive strength should be?
I have this RAM and use 8/2 for drive strengths on the Expert board. Haven't had any major problems. You might try flashing to a different BIOS. I need 3.3v to run at DDR500. My sticks also need a lot of voltage to get them to run at DDR540 in 32M.

how many volts? 3.7?

Yep, 240MHZ @ 3.2V is great. You are using a San Diego (i read in your sig) , what about if you use L6&L2 for Drive and Data Drive strength? For me those values work very well in Opteron and San Diego up to 250MHz. Sometimes all is about driving strength ;) I have a pair of GHs that can do 240MHZ @ 3.1V (http://img489.imageshack.us/my.php?image=op144240222531v8m3de.gif) using those settings.

Thanks evilRuLeZ & corvus_corax. Needed 3.75v to run at 270. For everyday usage, 250 @ 3.3v is a better option.
