well, first time post here, hope i got into the right place to post this. :)

(edit: mmm, this may belongs to hardware section, but i am not too sure, if any mod can confirm this, i would happy if u can help me to move this at the right place. thanks. )

anyway, i just bought this G skills F1-4400DSU2-1GBFC (2.4 4 4 8) and i am having a bit problem here.

firstly, this is my system:

DFI nf4 sli-dr expert (original bios, think it is 11/02/05)
Oteron 144 @ 2700mhz
MSI 7800gtx
topower 500w eps

was running team xtreme bh-5 utt, now playing with this g skill with no luck. :(

what i did was:
1. boot into bios, load default. shut down. power off, unplug bh-5, install g skills into ORANGE slots.

2. boot into bios, all settings are default, bump to 275mhz, vidmm from 2.66 to 2.7, enable memest64.

memtest 64 got errors on loop 5 test in the first round. =.=

then i have a bit play with all the advanced settings, ie, specify all the Tcl, Trcd, Tras and Trp, lose Trfc and Trc.

reboot, still error in loop 5 tests in memtest 64.

now i am kicking myself, bump vdimm from 2.7 to 2.8, everything else default. still got errors, but decreased a bit.

but man, if this ram need 2.8 to just run default speed with everything else on lose timing, i am really wasting time here.

furthermore, i tried swap them around, also tried yellow slots, but dont' know y, my system will post a bit and restart if they are in yellow slots.

can anyone else suggest what might happen here?

thanks for reading.

I just RMAed two Gskill sticks which had the same issues... it is possible you have a bad set. Mine where running on an Ultra D and would fail memtest at stock speed with auto timings and different voltages.
