I have some Ballistix (PC4000 the 2x1 gig set). I need to know what the stock settings (voltage and settings) are supposed to be so I can test them for a RMA. I have to run them at 2.8V and 3-3-3-7 at 250mhz. Anything above that and they get errors in MEMtest. What does crucial consider bad sticks for a RMA? Thanks!

have you tried running them at 2.6vdimm? i can't even get mine to run at stock at 2.8vdimm but they ran nicely with less voltage!

hth:)

i think the stock timings are 3-4-4-8, at 2.6vdimm, so if they work at 250 3-4-4-8 w/ 2.6vdimm, start putting 2.9vdimm or higher to make em die quicker :)

3-4-4-8 250Mhz 2.8v (everything else on auto)

Only if your modules don't work with these settings are you entitled to RMA.

However if your sticks are degrading, it's a metter of time until they don't even run at specs and then you can RMA.

Give them some cool air if you want to keep those sticks (or the next ones). They really need it.

start putting 2.9vdimm or higher to make em die quicker :)

:nono: That's not correct. Please keep your thoughts for yourself. Thhings like this are not welcomed here.
