Anyone know what this error indicates? The pc in question errors every now and again (about 1 in 30 or so - probably on the limit of it's OC) but this is the first time I've come across this one. I'm a little p'd as it was one helluva big WU - ran for 6.5hrs before erroring out...

Ignore the errors generated by 'P4' - I was playing with the OC on that machine last night :p:

This means the max CPU time was reached. You need to lower the OC or make it stable to avoid this.

Out of 250ish results I've had maybe 6 failures that were fairly obviously due to the OC but these all had 'error 1073741819' as the exit status - this is the first time I've ever seen 'resource limit exceeded'.
I'll drop it a few mhz anyway and see where it gets me, thanks Rod...

6 out of 250 doesn't seem too bad...
I would suggest you log into your R@H account and view the details for that rig. Under the results section examin the results that errored out. See what others have returned. If eveyone else that ran the same task got the same error then you know it's the task and not your PC.
Sometimes you just get a bad WU...

This is the WU in question http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=7113121 but unfortunately it looks like no other machines have processed it yet.
It's wierd that it shows an 'unhandled exception' error but states 'maximum cpu time exceeded' as the reason for failure don't you think? The unhandled exception does suggest that it failed because of the OC though :stick:

Not necessarily... It can be because of an OC... Or it can be that it's just a bad WU... In most cases you will get the "max cpu time exceeded" because it's a bad WU.
If your OC is unstable the WU will error out very quickly.. Usually.
So chances are it's the WU and not your CPU.
I can't get the WUid link to open up... it keeps timing out. So I can't see if anyone has or is running the same WU. I bet if and when another person runs it they will get the same error.

Here is an example of a WU that your computer crunched and failed on.
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/workunit.php?wuid=3835193
You will notice that EVERYONE that got that WU errored out as well.
I also looked through the other WU errors on your PC. Most are the same situation as you posted here. Max CPU time and no one else has run them...
You do have 2 that failed (and NOT because of max cpu time) and others have successfully run them. But this isn't enough for me to think your OC isn't stable. This can be caused by heat fluctuations in your home or it can just be a total fluke.
I would suggest you wait for others to return some results on the ones you had fail and see what they get.

Yeah that's my experience with OC related failures too which is why I was wondering what went wrong here in the first place :p:

I had one that said same thing (cpu time exceeded)... it must be a WU prob since it was on my MP2000+, machine is not OC'd and stable as a rock !

I lost 14 hours of computing time, this is not funny :slapass:

Note that sometimes they give credit for these if they find there is a problem with the WU.
