i get that "No Work from Project" message sometimes, also.

If you increase your cache you will have enough to ride out those times when that message appears.

~~~~~~~~~
So...
Go to http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/
then click on Returning Participants on the left, then Your Account
then "View or edit general preferences" ( under "Preferences"
Click on "Edit Preferences" at the bottom and in the 3rd and last area >> change "Connect to network about " to 1 or 2 days , then click on "Update Preference".
That should take care of your problem. Even if you have a ( God Forbid! ) 12 hour period of those messages you'll still have work so it won't matter or bother your production.
Hope that helps...
Scott
This is a fellow member at XR who is also using the account I set up. I have mine setup for 1.1 days, can he change preference for his rig?
if he is using the same account, then he has the same cache, i imagine.
when he sees that message, in BOINC Manager it is most likely under the Messages tab. Have him click over to the work tab for a second. As long as he has a "work unit" he's working on, and a few in reserve, he should be good to go. All that message is saying is "at the current time there is no new work available". But if he has a few in reserve, and BOINC is working on one at the moment then there is no cause for concern....
Now, if he was still getting that message as BOINC finished all the work on the local machine, then there would be a problem. 1.1 days is a pretty good amount.
I totally forgot to ask him if he had work under the work tab. Thank you.
edit >> your welcome :)
BTW, if he is using the same acct. as you there is, probably, still a way for him to have different preferences. You could call his a "work" or "school" computer, I believe, and have a different set of preferemces for his box...
I think that would work.
He has work backed up ready to run so he is good to go. He changed his preference to 2 days. Thanks again.
that is correct. he can set his machine to be a "school" machine and have his preferences be different.
I get this message too... It's really nothign to worry about. Really all it means is your queue is full and you can't DL more work.
