RMAing 2x1gb pc4000 crucial ballistix for store credit ONLY shoudl I get tracers?

I rma my 1st set of ballistix and they sent me new. I then yesterday just opened them out of the box from crucial and just took them out of the anti-static bags and right into my new build, they were unstable 200mhz 3-3-8 even with vdimm increase from 2.6 to 2.7. I called complaining and now I will recieve store credit. I do not wish to get another set. It has cost me $30 each time to overnight them back to crucial and I cant afford to keep doing it. The tracers seem like a good choice since I only have store credit. Your thoughts?

well at the end of the day there is no difference IC wise between the ballistix and the tracer, they just look different, so in some respects you would be getting the same thing.

Ya but I didn't hear much about tracers dying is what I'm saying. Just looking for input otherwise because I'm not sure if they die as much as the ones I had to rma 2x

I would say get some TCCD or some UCCC if I were you.. Ballistix lately have been dying left and right

I only have a choice of the reg or the tracers.... Didn't realize this but now I'm really lost on what to do. Don't wanna ebay em cause I will lose money and don't want to get a 2nd set of the normal because they die everytime for me, I still never heard anything bout tracers dying.. so confused!

if you're more comfortable getting tracers, get em! it's worth a try and there's no loss.... I would. :D

I'm going for the tracers, its not even about low vdimm, i put them in my rig stock and they didnt work, had to use 2x512 to install OS and run my rig they didnt work 2.6vdimm 3-3-3 @200mhz and they rated those timings at ddr550 so i raised vdimm to 2.7 to see and still not stable lol dono what to say.. going with tracers, thanks for input guys
