7 Hour Clients? [Archive] - XtremeSystems Forums

Geez, I just got 10 days woth of 6:56 clients???Sounds scary to me. Big risk of computation error crunching that long. What do you guys think?
1- Live with it
2- Flush em and re-download

is that with you X2???
if it is those are gong to be some BIG WU's.

my X2's average WU times are 1:24 and 2:41
but my DX's are 4:06, 7:42 and 8:58

oh and those are the average WU's time some will be longer and some will be shorter but 7 hours on an X2 should be worth like 200 credits per WU.

the longest i have had is about 3:20, get over 100 credits for completion, the fastest have been about 20

I've had several of those... nothing strange about that... But when you get one that's been running for 4+ hrs and is still at 1%... then you have something to worry about.

The issue with these is that you may not see them. It's one thing if you have one PC that you spend a lot of time at but for the guys with systems that are remote and they see them maybe once a week it can be a problem.
I think whats needed is an auto disconnect at X hours..If the WU runs say over 8 hours it auto disconnects and goes on to the next one.

There is already a feature like this in BOINC. It's to keep you PC from working on a single WU forever.
