Today I will remove my stock cooler and put on an Artic Freezer Pro. I was told Un scented nail polish or rubbing alcohol to remove the paste from the CPU and heatsink...Is this correct?
Also I will be taking the stock paste off of the cooler and using AS5...The credit card method is best? I should not see any of the IHS?

Ok kinda answered my own questions with a more in depth search ;)
Small dot in the middle, let HS preasure spread it around.
As for cleaning I think I'll go with 70% Isopropyl Alchy.

i personally spread a very thin layer of AS5 using credit card or something alike and then put just a tad more paste in the middle of HS... works fine for me. :)

acetone from the hardware store :-) un-scented nail polish remover has moisturizers and other crap you don't want left as residuals. I guess you could use remover followed by an isopropyl wipe, but I'm lazy so I juse use straight acetone.

I used 70% Isopropyl Alchy on a coffee filter...seems to be running very cool :)
Slightly OT...my A64 Arctic Freezer pro is slightlty off center on the chip since I had to flip the clip 90degrees so that it blows out the back...is this a problem? It doesn't seem to be judging by the temps but just wondering

Sounds like you're all set, if you're adventurous you could remove the IHS as well. I'm curious to see before and after temps, I never booted my chip with the IHS :D

well, since the actual CPU core is much smaller than the IHS size, no problem there... :)

thats what I figured high5. Right now I'm running SnM at 2.585 and my max temp has been 45 degrees :)

that cooler sounds really nice man. MrWicked on AMD Forums speaks very highly of it I believe. Is it dead silent?
Also, I use 99% rubbing alcohol. But in order for it to clean off all the way, I need to have the processor still somewhat warm so it turns sorta into a liquid when it hits the grease. Comes off butter smooth.

I'm not sure about the noise, my case fans are pretty loud. I think the price/preformance ratio is probably unbeatable. I just ran snm and it never went above 50 at 1.375V w/113% VID @ 2585MHZ...The box cooler would have been well above 60.
