HEllo Men, I am very beginner here, but I think to be fall in love for this fantastic world of overclock...i read here everyday for to learn every day something new but i have many many many limits so i ask you some little advise about how to overclock my system..

I am sure taht you will advise me the right ways for to do something good ^_^

I tryied many many configurations, but the best of my result for the moment is this :

in daily use I have this configuration :

FX 53@2550 x10
OCZ PC4000 Gold VX [2-2-2-5 @255Mhz 3,2v]
HT x4
vcore 1,525v from the Bios

I would like to do much more, but I really dont know and dont understand where to start....

I wait your advises...thank you very very much

hey man, you tried upping your vcore a litte? What kinda cooling you got. On air id probably run at about 1.6-1.65 and water around 1.7.

Should get you some better clocks.

Hello my friend :) , thank you very very much for to be here helping me ^_^

My cooling is only on air .... i want to say that i have an thermalright XP120 with a fan 120mm ... i am a little bit worry for my temperatures also, because 2 mouths ago i had a asus a8n sli deluxe and my temperatures was lower than now with DFI... now in idle with open case, there are 38° cpu idle... 39°chipset
I tryied to give more vcore... itryied from the bios with 1.550v , then i tried 1.450 + 110%v = 1.595v but i continued to find instability... I noticed also that i find not stable the fsb around the 255mhz of htt .... i tried it with :

31.141s-HTx3-2709.85Mhz-x10.5-HTT258.08-Mem246.35-2 2 2 6-3.3v-1.450+110%v

then today i finally arrived to my personal record :p: 30.672 you can see my configuration... 1.550 vcore then..... ...

http://img498.imageshack.us/img498/2812/30672shtx4267239mhzx11htt24294.th.jpg (http://img498.imageshack.us/my.php?image=30672shtx4267239mhzx11htt24294.jpg)

Anyway, I would like to understand what i have to do for first step now... i would like to have more than 250mhz for ram frequency ...is it too much? or do you think that i could more?

thank you again very very much..and sorry for my bad english :p:

I'd try with integer multipliers. :) I don't like x.5 multis... :stick:

hello!!:)
today i tryied it.... i did x11 so i was in sincrone...right?

see my last post.... you see my last configuration test.... anyway, i dont understand why i cant go up the 250/255mhz for the HTT... what i have to set for to run up ? meaby i can try with the Hipertransport to x3, and then ? :p:

yes put htt multi to x3, or leave it at auto.

Maybe your RAM can't handle the higher speeds (unless you tried running a divider)

Hello, thank for to be here... ^_^

2 weeks ago i saw this article in XtremeSystem about my RAM

http://www.xtremesystems.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=17&page=3

here talk about that this model can arriva without problem at 260 o 270 with 2226

do i read wrong?

yes but he ran that ram at likely 3.5 volts or higher

also to get any more out of that ram you will need to up the timing a bit you ahve to loosen it up,,, cant run 2-2-2-5 forever if you want to to go higher,,, or slap a divider on it up to you,,,

you should really check your rams top speed first,,, drop your multipler on the CPU down a bunch and then see how high you can get the ram stable to,,, that way your not guessing as to what is limiting you,,,

he says: I could get 265 stable for a daily speed, if I was willing to push 3.5 volts into the ram, everyday, all day.

But for me, 3.3 volts is where I am comfortable. So 260 is where I keep it.

anyway i will try also to give more voltage, for example 3,5v

Hello, sorry for my bad english, so i dont understand really well the words... you say to "slap a divider"... what does it mean? which divider?

you also advise to up the timing a bit... could you advise me which timing? for example, i have to put timing 2 2 2 6 12 256 ? or i have to change other?

the tref is set at 0648 and not 3120 because i have readed about bh5 VX and DFi and to can change the value at 0648.... is it correct way ?

thanks.

what you would need to do to help your OC is change the memory to 2.5 that will help loosing up your timings a little and help with your OC for starters try..2.5-3-3-6.

the divider he was talking about is changing it from 200mhz to like 166( 333)...

sorry when I was typing I didnt realize that you were from italy. You can set a divider on your ram --> go into bios and into dram settings. You should have an option to lower from 200 1:1 to less liek 166 or 133,,, it will let you make your clock speed faster but run your ram at a slower time it can handle.

Also loosen the timings flash gave you a good spot to start, in terms of the numbers,

Loosen means to make the numbers higher. The looser the timings the faster the ram will run usually.

You can also give the ram more voltage but you would want to active cool it which means like pointing a fan right on the ram.

good luck

hmmmm..the old addage "opposites attract" certainly applies to this i would think ...... lol

anyways, back to your system...
certainly be concerned as to the amount of voltages you use on your memory, but i think that there are those here that you can very much trust as to what voltages they say are "safe" high voltages to use...as for your cpu voltages,
let the temperature be your guide ....
anytime you can run at, or under 50c as a maximum on air, then you are ok....personally, i run water cooling and try to never let it go above 40-41c.

and yes ...we KNOW all about the great foods from both north and southern italy....

italian food over here in the USA is loved BIG TIME....
