I have a rig with no internet connection that I want to run Rosetta on.
What is the proper procedure for copying files /folders from the rig without internet connection to a rig with internet connections?
Also what files / folders do I need to copy? I know I have to shut down the application prior to doing this...Is anyone else doing this?

I am not sure you can do that because of the way rosetta is set up. WU's are assigned to a computer through an indivigual ID and then they are credited to the comp in the stats system. It is not like D2OL where every computer has the same ID, in roestta every computer has a different ID because of the way it grants cridit for WU's based on Bmarks. If this were possible i could take the WU's that were done by my DX and just upload them from my X2 and get alot more credit for them.
you are probably going to have to run a cable over to the comp. every couple of days and allow it to upload and download all at once.

This comp is at work with a 'blocked' upload capability...It downloads just fine though, has 5 days worth of candidates to crunch. Does this change anything?

Good question DAK. I would like to know if there is a way of doing this also.
I have 3-4 pc's that have no i-net connection that could be crunching. (yes i could run ICS on dial-up but i'm not going to. 1 of the pc's don't have LAN or anything either)

i look at the rosetta forums and i found a few posts that said they backed up the whole rosetta directory and replaced it on a different computer to upload wu's. they never talked about what file you have to backup

You should be able to copy the entire BOINC folder and run it off of a Disk on key.

Q. Can I move work from one computer to another?
A. Yes. If you copy the ENTIRE Boinc folder to a thumb drive, take that to a different system, plug it in and run, it will continue to work. The only downside to doing this is that your "view computers" display may get a little confused if you upload a WU from the new system. This can be prevented by running BOINC Manager from the thumbdrive initially after the copy, and setting network access to never available.

ahh.. so I can start work on this computer (let it d/l work) copy the folder. Transfer over the lan to another computer and run it from that computer. Then when the work is done, upload it from this one?

You should have to worry about the reg keys at all.

Ok here is what I did.
1. Copied the BONIC folder from my laptop's c:\program files. (has completed 3wu)
2. burnt to cd. (gave me some errors about loosing attached info, but continued anyway)
3. Went to pc with no net connection what-so-ever and copied from cd into c:\program files
4. Ran BONIC Manager from c:\program files\bonic
Bonic started without issues and is doing work. (100% cpu utilization)
I aborted all the d/l work except a few and am letting it run over night. Will try to upload completed work tomorrow. (burn bonic folder back to cd and paste into laptop directory. I made it so the laptop and the pc with no net connection are doing totally diffrent work.)
I'll know more tomorrow
