My rig runs F@H more or less 24/7 except when im gaming, or doing other cpu intensive tasks....However, PWM temps are starting to worry me....
According to ITE smart guardian, they go to about 51-52*C and stay there, however, using a temperature probe, I checked and the heatsinks cirlced green are usually in the mid 40s or lower, however the one circled red, is always hovering around 75*C....

Is it normal, for the "red" one to run so hot? And will it cause any long term damage? In case your wondering, its an opty 146 @ 2.75 GHz with 1.44 v . also, once it idles, it takes ages for that red one to cool down...
Any advise appreciated :)

KITT , the one u encircled is the Vdimm mosfet. It usually gets hot when u use the 4V Vdimm jumper. Put a small 80 or 92 mm fan blowing directly on it. That will do the trick. I have two , 1x120 and 1x80mm fan blowing on my mosfets. Both silent . They move enough air to never let my mosfets go over 40c .

try the different vdimm jumper settings

Oh right!! Thanks a lot guys :)
That explains the temps. as im running 3.4v through my BH-5. Any suggestions (pics) of how to mount a fan there? :p:

I have a 120mm fan pointed at my Ram and PWM area to get some extra cooling before my ballistix was burning hot now its luke warm to the touch after running full bore,,,,
I just used some good old zip ties I got from a auto parts store to string up the fan pointing,, I toyed with a few metal brackets but nothing held it quite right,,, It looks decent since the fan is blue LED and the uv light gives it a nice glow and bette then looks it gets the job done which is all I care about,,,
I just went through the back fan grill which is empty and up to the bar where the PSU is and it suspends nicely,,,

as little as 20-30 cfm air flow on the mosfets makes a huge difference (well, PWMIC temps don't matter if your CPU is cool)
