I haven't upgraded for nearly a year now and my skt754 3700+ seems to be losing its ability to clock and has been run at stock for the last few months
So I think its about time my rig got some serious lovin!!! :D
But I have not had time to keep up with the latest hardware for the last 6 months or so :(

This is what I have come up with so far:-
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+
DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR PCI-E
2Gb G.Skill HZ Series DDR PC4000
Club 3D nVidia GeForce 7800GTX 256MB
I will reuse my OCZ PowerStream 520w.

It will be watercooled and overclocked to the max :D It will be used for a lot of gaming, but also to run distributed computing and to download so will be running 24/7.

What do you guys think or the parts I have listed? could I do any better???

Thanks :)

Im scoring 100 pts higher in 3d05 with the sapphire pure innovation board over what my nf4 board did with same setup. this is at stock of course but 100 pts is a decent gain in 3d05 for just a motherboard change.
also the x1800 xt can be had for the price of a 7800 gtx 256. Why pay for 256 when you can get 512mb, and imho better graphics + the ability to run high AA and AF without taking as much of a hit. Rest of the setup looks good.

Stick with what you have now or buy a sempron. Things are going to be changing to radically in the next couple of months to justify any purchases from where you are now
