I have the card voltmodded and right now its @ 1.5v core w/ 594/1485. The memory has 2.35v going through it. The problem is, the memory screws up when I set it to 1500mhz even with 2.4v through it. I have seen guys almost doing 1600mhz with the same volts. For those of you using vdd modded 7800gtx's are thier any tricks I should know of? Maybe I should up the vcore?

This may be a dumb question, but what's the cooling situation on the RAM?

And, yes, vcore bump certainly might help.

and, fwiw, I can break 1500 on stock volts and just air cooling the RAM in a 20C room ;)

Well, now I feel like I have crappy ram lol (which I probably do). All the ram sinks are cooled with VJ sinks. I bought them from VJ to put on the card and mosfets (he did not mod the card or anything). I hate to see such little boost in memory speeds w/ voltage because my core is pretty good. It does 600 @ only 1.5v on water.

I dunno too much about nVidia overclocking, but I would venture to guess that you are over-volting the RAM @ 2.4v. I bet a bump in the GPU core voltage would help, since the memory controller is in there too.

yeah, its counter intuative sometimes but try less voltage on memory. you might simply be at a point where voltage + the speed is creating too much heat. try less voltage and maybe get a better fan or a fan at all over the memory.

give more voltage to ram when benching..
i got 1450mhz with 2.4v and 1700mhz with 2,8v
for benching its ok and doesnt kill anything:D

Alright, well I will try all suggestions, less vdd/more vdd/and more vgpu. Ill let you know how it goes.

Ok, I am still having problems. I upped the vcore from 1.5 to 1.55 w/o increasing gpu clocks and tried 1500. It didnt blue screen but during 3dmark03 it crashed out and the screen was artifacted. I tried lowering mem voltages, but that doesnt do anything except lower my max mem overclock (1485) to 1450 and 1500 is still unstable. I have already tried upping the vdd from 2.35 to 2.4v. Also, the memory is cool during benchies so heat is not an issue. I want to know, is it safe to try vdd higher than 2.4v and for those of you that have pushed ur mem higher, how come you also use some much volts to get your core up? I only need 1.68v to do 702 and I see a lot of you guys using 1.8v to 1.9v who are really getting high mem clocks. Is it because u have to have that much vcore to get the ram to clock higher?
