I think it's high time we pack up and move our resources over to Rosetta@Home . We need to get started over there so we can get to #1 in yet another Project!

Not much more we can do here as we are #1 and have given quite a bit to the science of D2OL. Our lead is solid and we will have no worries about the cows passing us up now.

So... get your carcass over to Rosetta! I'm looking for us to be up to full speed in Rosetta before the month is out and hopefully a LOT sooner!

(Just think... we get to Road kill the cows again!!!!!!!! :slapass: :cow: )

ahead of you and crunching rosetta at %100

dimes seeme to work very well with rosetta also, so if you are not on the dimes team you should atleast put it on one of your comps.

Yes yes yes!!!! If you can please help out the DIMES team!!!! It won't take away from your production at all! We are on our way to being #1 there too! Just need more help!

See you in R@H and DIMES!!!

already crunching 100% in Rosetta, and DIMES has been running for 6 months now.

Pack them bags and head on over to Rosetta! We got us some cows to catch...again!

I have a limited up/download cableconnection... DIMES is a no-go for me:(
Just switched one half of my MP2000+ rig to Rosetta...

Now running 2 rigs on Rosetta (24/7) and 3 on D²OL (one 24/7, another @ work almost 24/7 and another @ a friends home 12/7) + my dual Xeon game rig on D²OL whenever I'm gaming (which isn't that often)

I'll start getting the parts together for the other two DX rigs I intend to build soon.

i think with that firepower you can..but im not sure.. can you?

I have the following commited to Rosetta:
1.5Ghz Mobile
2.8C P4 @ 3.6Ghz
3.0E at 3.8Ghz
3.2E at 4Ghz
4400+ at 240 x 11 running X64

2 other P4 rigs at work but they cant upload (company restriction)...D2OL was easy to place on memory stick but Rosetta is ??? Would Dimes be easier on those rigs?

I'm not surprised PY_222 would be hard to catch, from his output in DIMES and R@H, he must have a TON of firepower.

You can copy your BOINC folder and put it on a mem stick... it will run off of that.

I have talked to Hardass from XR_FAH and he told me there is no need for us to repay them in FAH. In fact, he has one DX rig crunching for XS Rosetta. I think it's up to individual XS D2OL members to decide whether they want to devote some firepower to help XR_FAH. :)

I'll have a dedicated rig up soon and I'll have my sempron up on rosetta tomorrow. P3 might not be of too much use in rosetta.

you should get some good graphics cards in those things and sponsor LAN parties.

charge an entrance fee, make some extra money, build more rigs:D

Seriously, i moved my Opty over tonight just waiting for it to do its thing. I'm on dial-up so idk how long it'll take. I have my P4 1.7 doing some FAH for XS atm, but i'll switch that over at the end of the month.

Athlon 900mhz, Celeron D 2.8ghz, A64 3400+ to R@H tomorrow. :)

How limited? I ahve a cap on my connection (Addmittedly I pay for the 40GB option...) and I manage to put at 30-40K daily in DIMES

In belgium 60% have cable that allows 8,5gb download/month and 1,5gb upload/month and the other 40% have adsl which you can choose (10gb download/upload). Belgium is the worst country in Europe for internet :(
We can't complain about our speed (10mbit download and 256kbps upload) but our limits are too low for this age (these limits hasn't been changed for more than 5 years because 2 providers have monopoly)

I have run dimes for a little while but in 2 weeks my upload limit was @ 75% and if you are over the limit you get smallband (56kbps)

Providers are thieves overhere, speed isn't a prob, but limits... don't get me started on that one...

Thinking about switching to another provider (Versatel-ADSL) which has almost no limits ( FUP, as long as you don't use more then 150Gig/month you're ok)... only downside: speed is limited to 1Mbit down / 256kb up .

A lot of XS D2OL members, myself included, are still crunching D2OL. I've moved just 25% of my rigs to Rosetta so far, but now I am ready to go 100% Rosetta, and the switch will occur this coming week. If we all switch, it'll put more pressure on the D2OL admin to fix the resubmit loophole ASAP. Besides, we have a real shot at outproducing the cows in Rosetta if we all switch over soon.

You guys heard the Captain, now let's haul ass.:D

Alright, I'm in guys. Setting up a dedicated rig right now. Just pin-modded an A-XP 2000 to a 2400, running memtest right now. Looks like I have to mod it to a 2600 to keep up with some of you guys. Should be up by next weekend the latest.

At the moment i run 2 x D2OL,2 x R@H and 6 x Dimes and am almost at 60% off my upload limit,am at 30% download.

I've had all this now running for 2 weeks i think,so if it holding like this am ok,you have to know that everyday when i upload lets say 30mb p/d,there is also coming 30mb off the meter from 30 days ago,so it stay's the same,am i clear maybe somebody else can say it better,Duc or E_R you know what i mean hè;) .

How do the call it in english,a floting meter:rolleyes: .

Did someone else have this at the D2OL stats,i updated my cans at 13.28 so when the stats are updating at 14.02 my numbers are showing up,but my numbers are not showing up and at statpage it updated also at 15.02,so where are my numbers.

Are the stopping altogether at D2OL or what, and it looks like everybody is going to rosetta,is XS D2OL team going to stop,i thought not,but he everything can happen.

In a month (some say 19 january) there will be a monthly reset for telenet users so maybe I could install DIMES and run it untill I am almost at my limit every month.

I know i know but it's so frikin painful to upload the cands left ( found 2000 of those today ), run XS_D2OL Uninstaller, then uninstall D2OL, then install Boinc, then....

What I do is upload the remaining cands, exit D2OL, and remove the shortcuts in the startup folder. I have the Rosetta installer and optimized clients packaged in a folder which is copied over the network.

If you run D2OL as a service just set it to manual or disabled.

I don't think you need to run Rosetta installer then optimizer now, since the version i downloaded today from boinc is 5.2.13 , which is the optimized version :slap:

Stop the client and make sure boinc is totally closed. Open the boinc folder and copy all of the optimization files into the folder... if you didn't have it installed you will see that the files sizes are different. If you already had it then just copy the files anyway and you won't be out anything but 2 minutes of CPU time.
