i am looking for a new pci-e card but need to cover as much of the cost buy selling my agp 6800gt 256mb
i looked at a saffire x800gt02 for £135
or
The PowerColor X850 XT for £152.
which would give the better overclock ? i guess it depends on what memory the power colour uses.
is the x800gt02 crossfire ready as the x850xt is.

X800gto2 because it is cheaper and i believe it gets clocks around X850XTPE speeds

both using 1.6ns GDDR3
default clock is surely higher for X850XT
overclocking.....umm....have to pray.....:worship:
My GTO2 running 640/640 (with some artifacts) with stock cooling, but my friend's one even can't do 530 core with water ;)

yes, X800GTO2 is CF ready.
Think X850XT can go higher than X800GTO2. And X850XT has better cooling.

well i orderd the x800gt02 fingers crossed i get a good one.
it will be water cooled with a maze 4 (if it fits) so the stock cooling isnt a problem.
good news it's crossfire ready.
thanks :)

Where'd you get it from? I got one from microdirect last week, and its pretty good. 650/1300 on Air (though its been very cold) with no mods. Also it had 16 pipes from stock, hopefully you get one just as good or better.

For 15quid the X850 is the obvious choice imo.

it was already set to 16 pipes from stock but wont go past 515 on the gpu without lockups. i looked at the core and it's the r480 so should do better i think.
I flashed with the 16 pipe bios anyway and it's still the same.
ram is ok at 600 at the moment.
still happy with the performance but thought it would do better than 515.

vcore modded it will go past 520 but it's getting a bit warm.
my 10k pot maxed value was 9.2k so the lowest vcore is 1.49 i would like to start at 1.45 so might try another pot.
the card i have is vivo dual dvi type.
