If thats all you want then the GT is the way to go.

I would say go the 7800gtx route, but thats just me. I believe if you are going to buy something, get the best and make it last.

I want the card, but i dont know if the gtx is worth it, i wanted to know if you guys thought it was. IS it a huge step in real life or little. I have the extra cash but idk, i could buy new coolign for the system, becaus emicrocenter just got a new dangerden section .

with the evga 7800gt 517 i can play any game on all high settings 1280x1024 with no lag whatsoever. so its your decision, the gtx is a given for no lag on high settings, the gt could possiblt lag. thats all that rly matters to me.

my friend runs a GT on a custom resolution greater then 1280x1024 with medium settings, looks amazing and no lag.

awsome, but if i could only get some decent drivers for these 6600gts on sli i would keep em, i liek the look of 2 cards over 1

Clock the GT upto 516 on the core and you've got yourself a stock GTX. Get the memory upto 1200 and your pretty much set. GTX performance for GT prices. On another forum, GT is higher than GTX's in similar systems On more than one benchmark

Even i can run Bf2 with my 6800GT overclocked above Ultra speeds with medium settings and with 1280x1024 resolution .
FPS is about 40-90 so its quite playable. I dont see why 7800GT couldnt run all High .
Imo just get 7800GT overclock it into GTX speeds and enjoy the beauty of BF2

nVidia has done a great job with this GTX so id say idd choose GTX.

I am talking us dollars, and yeah i want to staywiht nvidia. Im going to get the 7800gt then.
