Sapphire X1800XT 512MB voltages

When the card switches into 3D mode, what does the voltage change to? I know stock ATi Tool reports 1.275volts under 2D mode. I see a lot of people here running 1.475volts... Is that what the card is supposed to run at 3D mode?

with stock bios, in 3d mode voltage rimains 1.3v..there is also a OC bios (700/800), and when you open a 3d application, core frequenzy go up to 700mhz, and the voltage of the gpu go up at 1.48v..
atitool 0.25 beta 11 disable 2D/3D switch on X1800XT, so you must impost voltage manually..

No wonder why my temps are so different..

With the stock cooler and stock bios I could not run 690 / 800, max was 680 / 780. (idle 50 deg c / load 78 deg c)

I removed the stock and swapped for the Zalman which let me run the PE bios without problem, load temp of about 70 deg c. Last night I flashed back to the stock bios to see if max CCC was possible with the Zalman, it was and my load temps dont even break 60 now. I knew the PE bios bumped it to 1.48 just didnt realize the extra heat it produced. Althought I believe the stock bios in 3d bumps voltage to 1.4v.

The Zalman and the stock bios just rock and I'll leave it this way - max CCC OC and less heat than the PE bios!

there's quite alot of heat on Maze4 water my X1800XT

625/750 at 1.3v idles at 33-34C up GPU to 1.48v it idles at 43-44C that's an extra 10C!

Try it without the PE bios, my temps are much cooler with the stock BIOS and with the Zalman cooler I can overclock higher than the stock cooler allowed me.

i've never flashed my bios still on stock original HIS X1800XT bios - 1.48v is manually setting ATI Tool with 1.45v GPU :)

HIS X1800XT stock heatsink 1st remount with ceramique, stock bios + air con cooled max = 776/936 load temp 59-62C
HIS X1800XT + DD Acetal Maze4 with ceramique, stock biox + air con cooled = 796/936 not max yet load temp 51-52C

When I have the card at 1.475v and 750/900 my load temperature reaches 85c and that is with stock heatsink and 100% fan... Seems high to me.
