Change "Leave applications in memory while preempted?" to YES
I'll post anything else I find... feel free to post your tips and tricks

If you mean "Change "Leave applications in memory while preempted?" to YES",
I'm not certain, but by the sound of it, it looks like it leaves BOINC and associated projects in memory while your system is idle/not doing work
If you run more than one Boinc project, by "leaving in memory" when it pre-empts, when you start that project again, it will start back up from where it left off (whatever %) instead of starting from the last checkpoint.
So you're not losing any ground.
R@H recommends that you "leave in memory", as there have been some lost wu's due to a bug that causes a corruption in some wu's, when you don't.

Ahhhh... I would have guessed if had something to do with physical and virtual memory... That's why we ask such silly questions :D
BTW! LP_ a new face! Welcome
I might not have explained it real well, but that's my take on it, anyway.

I got this:
use client 5.2.13 for AMD64
use client 5.2.11 for P4 with HT

any idea how much gain there is in that?
i think...since it uses so much bandwidth...being able to dedicate 100% on a HT p4 and doing threads one at a time would help...instead of having 2 threads sharing bandwidth and 50% of CPU load each which is all that seems possible with 1 thread on HT CPU...
maybe ...disable HT...but then lose it's performance increase....
I'm probably talking rubbish though...having never folded properly before and newb with operating systems etc.

You're not alone as we are all noobs to this project. At any rate... thanks for making this the project/team you picked to pop your DC cherry! :D
