X1800XL + DVI = No video

Hi

Been reading on this forum for a while. Not posted much. But i've noticed you guys are the only ones playing around with XL's. So i ordered one after seeing how much success you guys have been having. Got a refurb from newegg, came with card only which is fine since thats all i needed, for 299$.

Thing is i just got a new LCD that is DVI obviously and it works fine on my GS using the dvi port on the vid card. But i installed my XL, uninstalled all nvidia drivers did driver cleaner etc first, and the XL wouldnt even give me video using the dvi hookup. I can tell my comps loading windows as i know the sound of my HD well, but no video at all. If i turn my screen off/on i get a 'no signal' display for a sec. then back to black.

I plugged in my crt using a dvi to vga converter and whala , video....even got the card to 550/550 without a vcore bump. But alas i cant use my crt. I've tried all i can think of, and im going to rma this card this week unless i can get it to work.

Any ideas?

Hmm sounds weird. I also use tft with dvi and I think it worked the first time. Maybe a dumb question, but have you tried the other dvi contact on the vga? If there was any problem with my card I think it was that I had to switch contact on the card to get a signal to the screen.

Ya i tried switching, i tried using both screens (dunno if i did that one right) . Sucky, maybe my lcd just has issues with ati's...
