Is 13,000 possible with 4400+ @ 2.750GHz (250x11), 2GB Plat EB @ 250 (2.5-3-2-7), 7800GT SLI...? Just wondering and thinking about going SLI... what about VModing the GTs and hoping for 520-535 Core and 1300-1325 Memory... could that do it?

-Thanks

Yea pretty easily. 1300mem is pretty hard though.

but you should get it with only 1150 or 1200mem

Okay, that's nice to hear

There (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1546346) you go. An X2@2.75 should do as well or better than my Opteron @3.15GHz.

about 14,000... nice

Is this simply because your Opteron is single core, and the 4400+ is dual core... or is the Athlon just more "3DMark friendly"?

3DMark05 gets a nice boost from dual core processors. Seems like someone on the forums tested a single core and a dual core and the single core had to be run at ~400MHz higher to equal the dual core's score.

Elf,

that's good to know... I didn't have any idea that 3DMark05 was that CPU dependent

What?
One my Voltmooded 7800gt CO goes 495/1400Mhz easy with default crapply HS 1.5Vgpu and 2.21Vdd.

I scored better then 13,xxx with no overclocking on the 7800s at all.
X2 4600 @ 2.7ghz on air. :woot:

That link shows the GPU @ 555MHz and the MEM @ 1305...?! :nono: hehe

1400MHz on the Memory is a MAJOR success for a GT! (the RAM is rated at 1000MHz, the most I usually see is 1300-11350 MAX)

They are extreme cards by XFX, I know I`ve not overclocked them much, they come 490core and if I overclock even to 509, they throw artifacts, so I`ve been running them stock.
I just ran a totally stock run with the CPU at std speed as well and the system scored a 12,3xx, I have no RivaTuner or coolbits loaded at all, the memory still says 1300.

Look at the screenshot.
With default cooling card goe's very hot.

1.5Vgpu and 2.21Vdd.
With default Vdd it goe's 1370-1380Mhz.
Don't look at default freq, its my mooded bios.
And its Infineon 2.0ns

Huh? It goes to 1370-1380 on default Vdd of 2.08v... or at 2.21v...? Either way, that is awesome!

well the only multithreaded tests in 05 are the cpu tests. they really have a big effect on final score?

Elfear

They seem to. If you go look at the top ORB scores with SLI'd 7800GTs (probably the same for GTX's) the dual core procs are running at a lot lower speed than the single core procs, yet they score in the same range. Maybe it's more SLI overhead making use of the two processors but it seems like single cards get a decent boost too.

its because of the DRIVERS that are being optimized for dual-core, not the application itself, so pretty much everything 3d will get a boost, including 3dmark ofcourse...

Rayman

do the cpu test even have a effect on score cause u can do the first 3 alone and get a score

True only the later drivers actually give dual-core procs a boost but the point I was trying to make is that they do get a boost in 3DMark05 compared to a single-core proc.
