I was just curious as to the highest speeds acheivable by these, as I can pick up a 128mb Gddr3 card with 1.4ns ram. Now as far as I know, 1.4ns is pretty damn fast, and nothing to be sneezed at. Stock clocks are 575/1300. "Xpertvision Golden"

I'm able to pick it up for $198 (keeping in mind a 256mb 6800GS retails for around $330 here). Just wondering if these clock speeds were worth the card's cost, considering because of how cheap it is.

I can pick up a 256MB X1600XT with an IceQ hs/f for $260. It's stock clocks are 587/1380

no, thats a 1600pro special edition card, the xts have 1.2ns memory afaik and are clocked to 600/680.

considering you can pick up a 1800xt for 60$ more id definately got for the 1800xt! no doubt!

oopsies, that was meant to be X1600XT with IceQ hs/f. sorry :P

never realised how fast these new midrange cards are.

i posted and pmed that iss guy
very weird.... i have 1600 pro cards and the vcore is 1.43 instead of 1.2v wich he says is default vcore for the 1600xt?
yet i can only get 630 core, same limit damien hit with his 1600xts...
very weird...

i guess our cards have a locked bios, but wth do our cards have 1.4v vgpu and his has 1.2v?

Try flashing 3D to 630mhz+ and go higher. I found out that works for locked 7800GTX Go BIOS.

With the GPU voltage at 1.5v, I managed to push the card to 720/724MHz with just the default cooler! That's 25% over the stock speed! It runs games stably and artifact-free the whole time at this speed. Impressive overclocking ability in this card.

The original resistance should be around 603 ohms. Pencil shading this resistor will lower the resistance and increase the core voltage. Dropping the resistance from 603 ohms to 570 ohms will increase core voltage from the default 1.35v to 1.5v. Measure the resistance of the resistor before turning on the PC! For those who wish to solder a variable resistor instead, you can solder a 10K ohms VR across this same resistor. Set it at maximum resistance and tune down resistance to increase voltage.

Mod will be the same as for X1300. Use a pot (10K, instead of 5K in this case) from pins 5 to 7 on the RT9232A. To start set pot to max, should give 1.4xx.

the bios editors dont work with x1000 files yet... :/

... my card already has 1.43v vgpu and it cant get past 630!

i meassured dozens of places on the card and i keep getting 1.43 on almost all of them! 70% of the spots i meassured are 1.43, 20% are 2.1v (memory i guess) and the other spots are around 5v, 10v or 0.5v

theres no spot that shows anything between 1v and 1.4v, nothing....
so i assume my card is 1.43v vgpu and i only need a new bios to get higher clocks...

I'm assuming you'd measure at the same cap as on the X1300. Only difference should be the values you read on the meter, not the locations. I'll be receiving a 1600xt later today though...then I can prove this theory.;)

my card has a different layout than the 1600 shamino used, and yes, i meassured the spots they show as well, and i get 1.43v...

what theory do you want to prove? :D

I don't know what board Shamino used. I thought you had been following the X1300 volt mod thread. If not, check it out....the pcb should be the same for these cards.
