I know you can merge computers, but nothing more... I thought XS_VIP always worked with only one account and never merged?

in D2OL we just merged under XS_VIP but in rosetta you just make a person join on the same account. So in the registration of the rosetta client I put
account XS_VIP
Password ******
and thewildblue just did the same :)
do be "carefull". People will get the same settings as the masterfile. So meaning, if one of the subteams would like a 10 day buffer and one say's hell no I've got constant bandwidth.... you'll need to make a comprimise.
Btw also, WATCH OUT FOR THIS:
edit: So to conclude, there is not way to merge MEMBERS.
You need to crunch under the same account right away. Sorry guys. (btw if anyone knows of a way besides merging the computers, please prove me wrong :) )
If you dock for like Free DC in D2OL, then come to XS ,your points are transferred to the new team. This is NOT SO in rosetta. if you crunch for XPC and decide to join Xs (Hint Hint Serlv ;) ) your points will STAY at the team you crunched them for.

AFAIK, merging computers only works for the same computer that has different BOINC installs. So if I were to merge my laptop and desktop, it wouldn't work.
At least this was the case with the other BOINC projects I have ran. I haven't tested it with rosetta, but I'd assume it'd be the same.
"Sometimes BOINC assigns separate identities to the same computer by mistake. You can correct this by merging old identities with the newest one." (on the merging page)

I have a similar question:
I justed registerd and joined XS. So I take it thats the same as joining the team using the "Create team account URL" apart from the same settings?

I was reviewing the BOINC forums and I don't think 'sub teams' are possible...

Why are subteam not possible???
Its not possible to merge users, but you can register with the same email address and pw. The only "bad" thing is, that you have to setup your accounts preferences on the website and there are "only" 3 profiles. But it should be possible to configure them, so that it works for everyone in the subteam.

Issue is say that for example DAK and I are new but separate users, we have to start fresh as a subteam, or @ least someone has to leave points behind since they can't be moved. THATS THE ISSUE :brick:

Not to mention the sharing of the PW... Once these accounts grow there is a great potential for disaster.

Its ok as long as you can trust your teammates. Changing the pw after someone joined might help. Haen't tried it yet.
Its definately not as comfortable as it was with D2OL, thats for sure :/

Yes its just down to trust.
The settings thing can be a bit of a pain, but if you right click on the Boinc icon you can over ride some settings, change for example always available network, from preferences usage.
