weird, I remember reading when the card first came out ATI had two slight revisions on the core and they were going to see which one did better. The better one would be the one they stuck with.

The better one is probably gonna be on the X1800xt-PE. The other one is probably the one out now that is on most X1800xt.

-10 cards are very early cards. As far as I know they were never sold but only pre-production. (I had a -10 back in Sept.) One note: my -10 had a bios that ran the core at 630.

Who knows, all the current cards are the market flash to PE without issue. The X1900 is due out next month anyhow so soon enough these current cards are going to be in the background.

Well who know man ATI Takes like forever to get there new cards on the market for the general public. I bet we won't see the X1900 in numbers till summer.

and just did the PE flash worked like a charm :)

-10 should be 256mb, no extra ram power circuitry components. Seems they stuck some cards with 512mb of ram, maybe a few hundred, most like because of pcb-shortage at the time, to meet launch deadline:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=41718&stc=1&d=1136077827
-20 should be 512mb, pcb power area complete(no missing silkscreened parts or empty solder pads), probably final x1800xl/x1800xt 256mb pcb designs. It's very obvious that there are issue with the ram on the x1800 series, made obviously by current WHQL drivers.

-50 xtpe/x1900xt, 512mb, extra power filtering for both GPU and ram, newer pcb design. Final R520 gen pcb design, built to support the newest revision silicon when it was found that they could go higher than was expected. Thanks to a certian individual, if i got my stories right, the x1900xt was the final result or the A23 silcon mating with this pcb.

NO, eva. the number is at the top of the pcb, not on the sticker. I have checked all the SKUs out there, and they do not correlate to PCB revisions.
109-A52031-00 is XL
109-A52031-10 is ?256mb?XT
109-A52031-20 is 512mb
109-A52031-30 is ????XTPE???CROSSFIRE???

So X-bit labs must just be making stuff up them...

But really, along as it overclocks thats all that matters 10k in 3dmark05 is not bad for the second best ;)

Heh, you bet. I was gonna email them when i saw Anton's article, but i figured I'd wait and see how it boiled down.:D

:cord:

UGP and DNOTTIS as well as Sampsa and ACCDIRECT have -20's as well. I have checked every pic on the net of the crossfire cards...and i have yet to find a pcb# on the crossfire cards.

OMG eva you're a fanboi:D :stick: :D the number is pictures you took is sick!:slapass:

your number shows here, pic number 41  on the page:

:D

The ending number is the revision number. -10 was first design then -20 which is the production PCB and now there is a newer X1K PCB. (Which I have. ;) )

I have had multiple X1800 XT 512MB cards. My first card was a -10 and was an engineering sample. (One way to see if a card is an engineering sample is the installed connector near the top of the card. On production cards it is not there. ) My following cards, Non Qualification Samples and retail cards have all been -20.

All my Crossfire cards are -10 but the PCB is different so it means nothing compared to the slave cards. If they make a change to the design...then a -20.

Doesn't make sense tho...ATI are never very convoluted in thier naming schemes.

So ya did have a 512mb -10, before the -20?

Yes the fault light by the power plug is obvious, as well as the connector.

heh. how does the new board clock? heh. nevermind.:D

thanks! But i thought so.

every -00 i have seen in an xl,
every -10 was a 256mb xt, except one, which was qualification sample.
every -20 was 512mb xt.

At least they didnm't have to revise the crossfire boards alot, but it seems to me that they should have taken the same changes from one card to the next.

I'm a bit overzealous when it comes to ATI and thier products...i could go on a fanboy rant...heh...but I'm watching everyone running ATI closely.;)
