I've just bought an Opteron 170 and was planning to overclock.
I have DFI SLI-DR and OCZ platinum 3200 Rev.2 sticks.
I tried to flash to 704-2BT BigToe Modded bios today.
I used winflash 1.76 and the flash seemed to be ok,but I had a problem with the windows shut down. The PC was hanging for ca 20 minutes, and I had to shut it down manually. After that I haven't been able to boot. At startup the process stops with 3 lightning diagnostic LED's and the board beeps.I've tried one stick at a time in all slots. I've even tried a pair of new OCZ Rev.2 sticks with the same results . I've tried to clear the CMOS and also pulled the battery. No luck.....
I can post through the cpu, but not my ram. Bad bios flash? Any ideas?

the individual check test is the only way to answer your questions...
find yourself a person with such hardware ;-)

Something similar happened to me with 2 boards and two sets of memories, TCCD and Ballistix. On both cases I could only boot with one stick on the top yellow slot or even with 2 on the yellow slots. Nothing on the orange slots make it past the 3 leds.

Remove the battery and the power cord overnight, put one stick on the top yellow slot (you may have to borrow one that works there) and reflash with any other bios. I don't know why but this bios was a nightmare for my two boards.

Thanks! I've already moved the cord and battery, but for short time. Tried it your way and waited over night. Borrowed a pair of Kingston ValueR 3200. No luck in first orange and yellow, BUT booted up in the second orange!! Flashed back to N4D623-3 and my system works!!!

Thanx!!!

I flashed back to the 623-3 BIOS don't know why but that BIOS keep randomly crashing on me, it just does not like my MB or Ram ;) everybody seems to like them but man it hates me, i tryed it 2 different times and same thing both times so for now i will leave it alone and staying with 623-3
